Da Nang City increases IT students to 44 communes and wards

On the morning of August 18, 105 information technology students were sent to 44 communes and wards in Da Nang city to support localities in handling administrative procedures according to the two-level local government model.

Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Da Nang City Nguyen Thanh Hong informed that the main task of students when coming to wards and communes is to support civil servants in handling technical problems with equipment such as computers, printers, networks, etc.; instructing on the use of management software, online public service systems and popular AI tools in administrative work.

Students also participate in supporting people and businesses in using equipment at public administration centers; supporting online application submission, result lookup, use of personal digital signatures, the city's digital platforms such as: Danang Smart City, VneID, utility applications, AI technology applications.

Through the review of the Department of Home Affairs of Da Nang, currently 69 wards and communes need support from IT students. The increase of 105 students to wards and communes will help reduce the pressure on local ministries in operating and handling administrative procedures.

The People's Committees of wards and communes are responsible for receiving students, developing plans and detailed content for students to support; ensuring favorable conditions for students to complete their tasks; evaluating the results of students' tasks and confirming the reports on the results of volunteer students' activities after completing their tasks.

The reinforcement period lasts from August 18 to 25. After that, the Department of Science and Technology, along with schools and agencies, will organize the following periods according to the needs of the communes, wards and the number of registered students. Implementing Plan No. 40/KH-UBND dated August 11 of the People's Committee of Da Nang City on "organizing the sending of volunteer students in the information technology industry to support the application of information technology and digital transformation in wards and communes in the area," the Department of Science and Technology coordinated withFPT University, Vietnam-Korea University of Information Technology and Communications (University of Da Nang), Duy Tan University to recruit volunteer students in the information technology industry, with priority given to students who are local residents who register to participate in the support.

The Department of Science and Technology has equipped students with knowledge before performing their tasks through professional training courses, established a Zalo group to support technical and professional issues so that they can support local digital applications and transformation. The Department also set up a hotline (*1022, 383 1022) and technical staff on duty 24/7 to promptly receive, support, and guide volunteer students to perform their tasks well.
