Ha Long City spends 150 billion VND to renovate Dang Ba Hat hill into a green park

Ha Long City ( Quang Ninh ) is carrying out a project to plan, renovate and embellish the residential area of Dang Ba Hat Street and is expected to put it into use by the end of 2024.

Renovation of Dang Ba Hat hill area In order to renovate and embellish the residential area of Dang Ba Hat street (in Hong Gai ward and Yet Kieu ward), create a spacious and modern walking street, suitable for the natural terrain, and embellish the embankment at the foot of the hill to create a highlight for tourism development.

Dang Ba Hat hill area includes a residential area of over 71,000 m2; office land of nearly 6,400 m2; embankment at the foot of the hill is over 15,000 m2. Dang Ba Hat street is 1km long, the average road width is 6.5 m with curved sections widened to about 8-11.5 m. This area is located in the city center, convenient for traffic connection and adjacent to the coastal road.

According to the design plan, Ha Long City will renovate the space in a modern, uncluttered direction, the landscape architecture of the area will be in harmony with the surrounding space, while creating a unique architectural form. Taking Dang Ba Hat Street and 5 road axes from the alleys as the backbone for landscape and urban development.

The main objective is to renovate and build technical infrastructure, landscape trees to create a tourist highlight, combined with renovating and beautifying the neighboring residential area in the Dang Ba Hat street area to form a highlight route for tourism development with unique architectural landscape space. At the same time, minimize the risk of landslides in this area due to the characteristics of hilly and steep terrain.

Therefore, the project will design green areas and parks, landscapes along Dang Ba Hat street with an area of over 60,000m2; build some symbols as highlights combined with walking paths, the main "check-in" points for tourists. Small service works such as: toilets, refreshment service areas, warehouses... will be designed underground under the park to increase land use density. The total investment of the project is about 150 billion VND.

The project implementation ensures the basic principle of maintaining the current status of Dang Ba Hat Street. There is a reasonable traffic plan, multi-dimensional connection, limiting traffic congestion and conflicts during operation. Regarding the landscape, architecture, night lighting effects... are synchronous, unique, and impressive to guide people right from the step of granting housing construction permits; minimizing the impact on existing forest trees; having a plan to plan, renovate, and supplement the green tree system, seasonal flowering trees...

Ha Long City also requires functional departments and agencies to coordinate with research units to connect the route to Dang Ba Hat hill with service areas and neighboring destinations to form new tourist routes and tourism products to attract people and tourists. At the same time, step by step, orient and encourage people to do services and tourism to effectively exploit the potential and outstanding advantages of this area.
