Nga Bay City: More than 37 billion VND to implement the Traffic Campaign

(HG) - According to the Plan for implementing the Rural Traffic - Irrigation and Rural Environmental Protection Campaign in 2024, the People's Committee of Nga Bay City directed the implementation of the renovation of 9,583m2 of concrete-asphalt roads; upgraded and expanded roads of 26,410m2 and maintained and repaired roads of 11,408m2 . For the traffic bridge section, 495m2 of concrete and iron will be renovated; 249m2 will be upgraded and expanded and 228m2 will be maintained and repaired. Regarding irrigation, an area of 150ha will be improved. Regarding rural environmental protection, the target is to implement ecological embankments combined with planting trees to prevent landslides on the same river and canal route of 4,530m2; Clearing the flow of 63,953m2 of canals and streams and protecting the rural environment of 55,127m2 . In this campaign, 1,366 new trees of all kinds will also be planted. The total estimated cost of the entire campaign is over 37.08 billion VND. Of which, the state budget is over 32.93 billion VND, accounting for 88%; People contribute about 3.47 billion VND, accounting for 9% and mobilized capital is 1.17 billion VND, accounting for 3%.

The 2024 campaign in Nga Bay city has the motto "The State and the People work together". In which, the people voluntarily donate land, crops, and structures to build dikes and pump sand to build rural traffic roads; households with land lengths along the road of more than 100m will receive 50% support from the state budget for pumping sand from meter 101 upwards, and poor and near-poor households will receive 100% support for sand; the state budget will invest in curbing and hard surfaces. In addition, when implementing traffic and irrigation works, the people must agree 100%. The People's Committee of Nga Bay city requires effective and quality investment projects with the spirit of self-reliance, self-reliance, launching simultaneously, mobilizing all resources to participate, along with the criteria of not incurring construction debt. The campaign will be implemented from now and will end on September 2, 2024.
