Hai Phong City Party Committee directs to focus on overcoming the consequences of storm No. 3

The Hai Phong City Party Committee requested localities to urgently direct the overcoming of the consequences of storm No. 3, ensuring the rapid stabilization of people's lives and production and business activities.

Secretary of the City Party Committee Le Tien Chau inspected storm prevention work at the sea dike on the morning of July 21.

In recent days, the Party committees, authorities, local departments, branches, sectors, military and people of Hai Phong city have focused on directing the prevention of storm No. 3 (Wipha).

According to initial reports from localities and units, there have been no human casualties in the city and basically no major damage to property of people and businesses due to the storm.

However, due to the impact of rain and high tides, there has been localized flooding and the risk of landslides in some places.

Pursuant to Official Dispatch No. 16188-CV/VPTW dated July 22, 2025 of the Central Party Office announcing the direction of the Secretariat on responding to storm No. 3 (Wipha), the Standing Committee of the Hai Phong City Party Committee requested: The City Party Committee and People's Committee continue to closely monitor the developments of rain and floods after the storm; proactively handle arising situations, not to be passive or surprised. Urgently count the damage, direct the overcoming of consequences after the storm, ensure the rapid stabilization of people's lives and production and business activities.

Report to the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee (through the City Party Committee Office) before 2:00 p.m. every day on the damage situation and recovery progress.

Party committees of communes, wards and special zones regularly review and inspect vulnerable dyke areas at risk of landslides or flooding. Promptly evacuate people and property to safe places, handle incidents according to the "4 on-site" motto. Actively coordinate with functional forces and people in remediation and prevention work.

Members of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee continued to inspect and direct the overcoming of storm consequences in areas under their responsibility that suffered damage caused by storm No. 3.
