- On the afternoon of October 7, Lang Son City Party Committee held a summary conference. Resolution No. 12 dated May 12, 2016 of the City Party Executive Committee on strengthening the Party's leadership in implementing civilized lifestyle in weddings, funerals, festivals and the work of building and implementing village and hamlet covenants and conventions (abbreviated as Resolution No. 12); implementing the resolution on strengthening the Party's leadership in building and implementing civilized urban lifestyle in the city by 2030.

Attending the conference were comrade Doan Thi Loan, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Secretary of Lang Son City Party Committee; leaders of the Provincial Agencies Party Committee and leaders of a number of provincial departments, branches and sectors.

To effectively implement Resolution No. 12, Lang Son City Party Committee has developed a plan to organize over 120 conferences to disseminate and study the resolution with nearly 8,500 participants.

Blocks and villages have organized propaganda integrated into block, village and union meetings with more than 11,300 listeners; mobilized over 25,000 families and inter-family groups to sign a commitment to implementation; 100% of blocks and villages posted content on implementing civilized lifestyles in weddings, funerals and festivals; mobilized more than 25,000 households to register as cultural families; 100% of blocks and villages registered as cultural blocks and villages...

Thereby, the implementation of civilized lifestyle in weddings, funerals, festivals and the work of building and implementing village covenants and conventions in blocks and villages in the city have had positive changes. Specifically, in the past 8 years, in the area, there were more than 3,600 weddings (84.5%) and over 3,750 funerals (96.5%) following a civilized lifestyle; festivals in the area have had many innovations, the ceremony was performed according to the script, concise, solemn with the festival organized in a healthy, economical way, meeting the religious needs of the people, attracting tourists, contributing to the development of tourism and services in the area.

At the conference, delegates discussed new approaches, advantages and difficulties in implementing Resolution No. 12 at the grassroots level.

Also at the conference, the leaders of the City Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission deployed Resolution No. 158 dated October 1, 2024 of the City Party Executive Committee (replacing Resolution 12) on strengthening the Party's leadership in building and implementing a civilized urban lifestyle.

In particular, the resolution sets out a number of specific targets such as: striving for over 97% of households to achieve the title of cultural family; maintaining 100% of blocks and villages to meet standards and maintain the title of cultural block and village; striving for 100% of agencies, units and 95% of enterprises located in the city to meet cultural standards; 100% of blocks and villages to build and effectively implement village covenants and conventions; the number of funerals choosing cremation to reach a rate of over 30%...

Speaking at the conference, the Secretary of the City Party Committee requested that the Party cells and subordinate Party committees, based on their functions and tasks, urgently develop plans to deploy and effectively implement the contents of Resolution No. 158; and press agencies step up information and propaganda work on the new resolution to Party members and people in the area to effectively implement the goals, tasks and solutions set out in the resolution.

Representatives of collectives with outstanding achievements in implementing Resolution No. 12 received certificates of merit from the Chairman of the City People's Committee.
