ĐNO - On the afternoon of June 15, the Vietnam Microchip Community held its 4th offline meeting of members in Da Nang with the theme "Connecting the elite - Reaching out to the world ". Accordingly, the meeting discussed solutions to attract and develop microchip human resources to work in Da Nang.

According to Mr. Nguyen Phuc Vinh, Technical Director of Sypnosys Vietnam Co., Ltd., when a semiconductor enterprise decides to invest in the city, they will be concerned with the following main issues: human resources; legal and tax support; office and infrastructure support.
Regarding infrastructure, the city needs to prepare facilities, power sources, etc. Regarding legal and tax support, there should be tax incentives and a support portal, a support center connecting business contacts in Da Nang. In addition, administrative procedures need to be simplified, shortening the working process.
This is an industry that requires huge investment capital. In addition to investment through the State budget and special mechanisms, Da Nang needs to mobilize other investment sources, especially resources from enterprises.
Mr. Le Hoang Phuc, Director of the Da Nang Center for Research and Training in Microchip Design and Artificial Intelligence (DSAC), said that there are currently 10 microchip design enterprises in the city, including 7 branches of foreign-invested enterprises (FDI): Synopsys, Marvel, Uniquify, Savarti, Renesas, Synapse (now Quest Global), Sannei Hytechs; 3 Vietnamese microchip and semiconductor design enterprises: Fpt Semiconductor, Viettel Hi-Tech and Acronic.
Currently, in Da Nang city, there are 3 concentrated Information Technology (IT) Parks recognized by the Prime Minister, including: Da Nang Software Park; Concentrated IT Park and FPT Office Complex. In addition, there are 3 IT Parks implementing investment policies: Hoa Xuan Ward Creative Space Project; Da Nang Bay IT Park Project; Viettel Da Nang Building.
By 2030, the city aims to establish a network of universities and training facilities in the fields of semiconductors, microchips, and artificial intelligence that meet international standards; train and convert at least 10% of Da Nang's IT workforce.
There are 20 design and design service enterprises, 1 testing packaging enterprise, and at least 5 startups in the fields of semiconductors, microchips, and artificial intelligence that are incubated and developed. The city has 5,000 engineers, including 1,500 design engineers and 3,500 testing and packaging engineers.
Regarding support policies, Da Nang is currently applying a tax support policy for businesses investing in the High-Tech Park. In addition, the city has coordinated with the Ministry of Planning and Investment to advise the Government to submit to the National Assembly a draft resolution to replace Resolution 119/2020/QH14 of the National Assembly on urban government and special mechanisms of Da Nang city, including outstanding preferential policies and mechanisms in the fields of microchips and artificial intelligence.
