Attending the ceremony were Ms. Ho Quy Nhi, Vice President of the Provincial Red Cross Society; Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Tuyet, Deputy Head of the Provincial Buddhist Charity and Social Welfare Committee; along with representatives of local leaders and a large number of people from the two hamlets.
This project is a celebration of the First Provincial Red Cross Congress, term 2026-2031, and also in response to the 2026 Humanitarian Month with the theme "80 Years of Compassionate Journey for the Community".
Ms. Ho Quy Nhi (third from the left), Vice President of the Provincial Red Cross Society, along with sponsors and leaders of Phan Ngoc Hien Commune, performed the groundbreaking ceremony.
The bridge is 53 meters long and 2 meters wide, ensuring safe passage for people and non-motorized vehicles, even during the rainy season. The total construction cost was nearly 300 million VND, raised through donations from benefactors, contributions from local residents, and matching funds from the government budget.
Ms. Ho Quy Nhi, Vice President of the Provincial Red Cross Society, presents livelihood support to the family who owns the ferry terminal.
Previously, people in the area had to travel by small ferries, posing many safety risks, especially for students and the elderly. Once completed, the bridge will help shorten travel time, facilitate trade, promote economic development, and improve the lives of the people.
People from both hamlets participated in the groundbreaking ceremony.
On this occasion, the Provincial Red Cross Society provided 10 million VND to the family of the ferry terminal owner to help them transition to alternative livelihoods when the ferry terminal ceases operation, demonstrating timely concern and support to help the family stabilize their lives.
This project not only has practical social significance but also demonstrates a spirit of working together for the community, contributing to the development of rural areas.
