Today, June 11, is the day that 76 years ago, President Ho Chi Minh issued the "Call for Patriotic Emulation". Following his call, during the resistance wars and in the process of building the homeland, Ha Tinh has promoted emulation movements and campaigns, contributing to the successful implementation of local political tasks. Notably, generations have always demonstrated patriotism through every action.

On June 11, 1948, while the resistance war against French colonialism was taking place fiercely, President Ho Chi Minh issued a call for patriotic emulation.

The purpose of the competition is to eradicate hunger, illiteracy, and foreign invaders, with the method of "Relying on the people's strength and spirit to bring happiness to the people".

President Ho Chi Minh's call for patriotic emulation has been carried out by generation after generation.

And Uncle Ho's call at that time had called on all classes of people to enthusiastically participate in labor, production and fighting. According to President Ho Chi Minh's viewpoint, the emulation movement and emulation content must be implemented comprehensively in all fields.

Emulation movement to eradicate illiteracy during the resistance war period

In Cam Binh commune, Cam Xuyen district, thanks to the good implementation of emulation movements from eradicating illiteracy, hunger, foreign invaders to emulation movements to carry out political tasks during the renovation period, this locality was honored to be awarded the title of hero by the Party and State 4 times; in 2021, it achieved the standard of a model new-style rural commune.

Keeping in mind President Ho Chi Minh's teaching "emulation is patriotism, patriotism requires emulation, those who emulate are the most patriotic", after the wars ended and the construction and renovation process began, localities and units in Ha Tinh promoted patriotic emulation movements in all fields.

The focus is on the movements: All people unite to build a cultural life; Good workers, creative workers; competing to build new rural areas, civilized urban areas, joining hands for the poor - leaving no one behind.

Through emulation movements, we have contributed to successfully implementing the goals and targets set out by the Resolutions of Party Congresses at all levels, building an increasingly prosperous rural and urban appearance.

Thanks to the effective implementation of emulation movements, Ha Tinh has achieved many outstanding results in the fields of socio-economics and Party building. In the first 5 months of 2024 alone, agricultural production had a comprehensive harvest.

Development of science and technology

Total budget revenue in the area is estimated at 8,170 billion VND; Disbursement of public investment capital reached 1,597 billion VND, reaching 31% of the plan. Approval in principle for 12 domestic investment projects with total registered capital of 1,627 billion VND. Key projects are being accelerated.

Social security activities continue to create a widespread influence. Currently, to make the emulation movement more and more practical and to replicate advanced models, Ha Tinh has been and is continuing to improve the quality and effectiveness of emulation movements.

Following President Ho Chi Minh's call for patriotic emulation, Ha Tinh changes every day.

76 years have passed, but President Ho Chi Minh's Call for Patriotic Emulation remains intact in both theory and practice. The purpose of emulation, content of emulation, and timing of emulation in his Call continue to be the driving force for the Party Committee, government, and people of Ha Tinh to promote patriotic emulation movements, successfully achieve the set socio-economic goals; gradually bring the Resolution of the Party Congresses at all levels for the 2020-2025 term into life./.
