At the 2023 Admissions and Career Counseling Day jointly organized by Tuoi Tre Newspaper, the Ministry of Education and Training, and the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs on March 19 at Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thu Thuy, Director of the Department of Higher Education , Ministry of Education and Training, said that the new point of this year's admissions is that candidates only need to register their wishes according to their major. This adjustment by the Ministry of Education and Training prevents candidates from being confused when having to register their wishes in many different combinations and admission methods.

Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thu Thuy, Director of the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education and Training, said that this year, candidates only need to register their wishes according to their major.

For example, if a candidate wants to register for information technology, they only need to register for the major code and school without having to register for the combination or admission method.

Candidates only need to enter the necessary evidence into the system (in addition to high school score data and high school graduation exam results updated by the Ministry of Education and Training). The software will process to confirm that the candidate has been admitted to the highest priority wish that the candidate is eligible to pass.

After registering for early admission, candidates must still register their admission wishes and necessary admission evidence to the Ministry of Education and Training's admission system in order of priority from highest to lowest (highest is the first wish).

Once admitted to their first choice, candidates will not be considered for their second or third choices. This is a rule to give candidates the chance to be admitted to their most favorite choice.

The Director of the Department of Higher Education added that the admission process will be fair to all wishes. The system will process the admission so that the candidate with the highest priority wish among the wishes of eligible candidates is admitted.

Candidates must participate in the preliminary selection and meet the standards prescribed by the Ministry of National Defense to be considered for admission to military schools.

Lieutenant Colonel Do Thanh Tam, Secretary of the Military Admissions Board of the Ministry of National Defense, said that this year, military schools will consider admission based on high school graduation exam scores, directly admit candidates according to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, and reserve 5% of the quota for priority consideration based on high school transcripts combined with international certificates or provincial-level awards or higher.

To enroll in a military school, all candidates must take part in a preliminary selection and meet the standards set by the Ministry of National Defense before being considered for admission. The preliminary selection is expected to take place from the end of March and be completed before May 20.

According to the regulations of the Ministry of National Defense, to be eligible to register, candidates must meet the standard requirements of age, political background and health. Candidates outside the military must be between 17 and 21 years old. Active and retired soldiers and citizens who have completed their service in the People's Public Security must be between 18 and 23 years old.

The Military Command of the district, town, and city will organize a health check and conclude whether the candidates meet the recruitment standards or not. Each school will announce its own regulations on health standards, however, candidates must meet health level 1 and level 2.

In 2023, military schools will recruit more than 4,300 students. Of these, four military schools will recruit female students, including the Military Medical Academy, the Military Technical Academy, the Logistics Academy, and the Military Science Academy.

Specifically, the Military Medical Academy recruits 342 male and female candidates nationwide. The Medical Faculty (general practitioner) recruits 20 female candidates residing in the North, 10 female candidates residing in the South (admission combination B00, A00).

For the Pharmacy major, the Military Medical Academy recruits one female candidate with permanent residence in the north and one female candidate with permanent residence in the south (admission combination A00).

The Military Technical Academy recruits 458 male and female students nationwide. However, the school only recruits 13 female students residing in the North and 7 female students residing in the South.
