The first subject of the Graduation Exam is Literature, in essay form, with a duration of 120 minutes.
Hanoi alone has more than 124,000 candidates taking the exam at 233 exam sites. Of which, there are 229 exam sites for candidates following the 2018 generaleducation program and 4 exam sites for candidates following the 2006 general education program (at Chu Van An High School for the Gifted (Tay Ho District), Ly Son Secondary School (Long Bien District), Ha Dong Secondary School (Ha Dong District) and Hong Thai High School (Dan Phuong District).

Ms. Tran Thu Lien (residing in Cau Giay district) - mother of a candidate at Yen Hoa High School exam site - shared: "I believe in my child's academic ability. This morning on the way to the exam, he encouraged me not to worry too much, so I feel reassured."
Similarly, Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong (residing in Nghia Tan, Cau Giay), whose child is taking the exam at Nam Trung Yen Secondary School, said: "This year, my child wants to major in semiconductors at Hanoi University of Science and Technology. He recently took the SAT certificate exam, so there is no more pressure to get high scores in all graduation exams, and my family is more assured when he takes the exam. In recent years, candidates have had many options such as thinking assessment exams, taking certificates such as IELTS, SAT... so the university entrance exam is no longer too difficult, it is just a condition for graduation recognition".
Waking up early to take their child to the exam at Nam Trung Yen Secondary School, Ngoc Mai (living in Thanh Oai district) did not put pressure on their child about the exam results. "My family does not put too much pressure on my child. My child has good academic performance, so my family lets him choose the school and major he likes. If the results are not as expected, he still has many other options and I support him," said Ms. Mai.
