As one of the 8 delegates of Uncle Ho's Good Children with outstanding academic and training achievements of the province, who were honored at the 10th National Uncle Ho's Good Children Congress on May 13-15 in Hanoi , for Dam Khanh Phong, a 5A student at Dong Xuan Primary School, Thanh Ba District, this is not only an honor and pride but also a great motivation for him to continue to promote his academic and training achievements to realize his dream of becoming a doctor.

Keeping in mind Uncle Ho's words "Young people do small jobs, according to their strength", Phong always tries to study well and practice well. For many years, he has achieved the title of "Excellent Student" and many high prizes in competitions at all levels. In the 2022 - 2023 school year, Phong won the Bronze Medal in the TIMO International Math Olympiad. In the 2024 - 2025 school year, he won the Second Prize in the Internet English Olympiad (IOE) and the Provincial Vietnamese Champion...

“Since I was a child, I have had a passion for scientific research. I always strive to explore and learn in order to create many practical projects that apply high technology. In addition, during the research process, I have always been encouraged and supported by teachers, family and friends. That has helped me complete my ideas and succeed in researching products,” Ha Tri Thanh shared.

The title “Good Children of Uncle Ho” is a noble title awarded by the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneers Team to individuals who are primary and secondary school students with good achievements, meeting the criteria of studying, ethics and being active in Team activities. The whole province currently has 1,199 children achieving the title “Good Children of Uncle Ho” at the district level; 100 children achieving the title “Good Children of Uncle Ho” at the provincial level. These exemplary models are the pride and expectation of their families, hometowns and country in the future. We believe that the “flowers” ​​of Good Children of Uncle Ho will always maintain and promote that title to become good citizens, contributing to building the homeland and country more and more prosperous.

“The 5 things Uncle Ho taught to teenagers and children” has become the first valuable lesson that generations of students when entering primary school know by heart, considering it a goal to strive for, study, practice and follow. From here, the movement “Vietnamese children compete to follow the 5 things Uncle Ho taught” has spread more and more widely in the Youth Unions and has been concretized by children throughout the province through many practical and meaningful activities to gradually practice and mature.

Following Uncle Ho's teaching of "Love the Fatherland, love the people", the children of the Fatherland have carried out many activities to foster patriotism and national pride through "Journey to red addresses"; "Repaying gratitude" activities such as: Cleaning and preserving the landscape at historical sites, martyrs' cemeteries, and memorials; visiting and giving gifts to heroic Vietnamese mothers; helping martyrs' families. In addition, the Unions also focus on propagating and educating children about sea and island sovereignty through modern communication channels such as social networks and the unit's Fanpage. Many creative online interactive models have been built through forums and online contests about Vietnam's sea and islands; building island models on digital platforms... attracting a large number of children to participate.

The Unions focus on improving the quality of weekly Union activities with many effective and practical activities such as: Telling stories about Uncle Ho, setting examples of advanced models, good people, good deeds. The quality of Union activities under the flag is increasingly improved, contributing to educating and orienting children about ethics and lifestyles associated with promoting examples of young heroes, good people, and good deeds.

100% of the Unions have successfully implemented the Movements "Friends progress together", "10-point flower", "Clean notebook, beautiful handwriting"... Organizing many creative experiential activities such as: Scientific research, promoting the development and replication of educational models and types combining play and practice; improving foreign language skills and international integration for teenagers and children through playgrounds and competitions. Maintaining typical club, team, and group models such as: "Math Club", "Young historian", "Overcoming difficulties to study well"... Thereby, encouraging children to actively compete in studying, improving foreign language skills, information technology, and international integration skills.

Large traditional movements such as “Small Plan”, “Thousand Good Deeds” or models of “Friends for Progress”, “Friends Helping Friends” have created solidarity and love among students, helping them to excel in their studies and training. At the same time, the teams have launched many movements and activities to help children in difficult circumstances through the programs “Helping Children Go to School”, raising funds for encouraging learning and talent, etc. Carrying out propaganda and education well for students to strictly follow school rules and discipline, be aware of law compliance, prevent social evils, and maintain traffic order and safety.

To “Keep good hygiene” as Uncle Ho taught, the Youth Unions regularly organize for children to clean the classroom; plant and take care of trees, flower gardens, lawns, and classify garbage according to regulations. The Youth Unions ensure the hygiene of classrooms and assigned areas, ensuring a green, clean, and beautiful classroom landscape; actively promote environmental protection activities, fight against plastic waste, use organic, environmentally friendly products; organize movements such as “Green Sunday”, “My school is green, clean, and beautiful”, “For the green of the homeland”...
