Agricultural cooperatives seize development opportunities

In the province, there are currently over 400 cooperatives investing in production in the fields of: Animal husbandry, cultivation, aquaculture, food processing, preliminary processing of agricultural and forestry products... In addition, there are many agricultural production service cooperatives, operating quite effectively. This is the result of applying policies to support and develop the cooperative economy in recent times.

Thanks to support for promotional activities and consumption connections, tea products of Long Coc Tea Production and Processing Cooperative, Long Coc Commune, Tan Son District were present at the trade fair.

Pioneering in implementing a model of linking goat farming, processing and product consumption, Tat Thang Agricultural and Forestry Cooperative, Tat Thang Commune, Thanh Son District has focused on organizing livestock farming according to advanced technical processes, creating close connections between members in the value chain. Ms. Dinh Thi Thao, Director of the Cooperative shared: “With a market supply of over 250 tons of goat meat/year, the products after farming are reasonably distributed to main market groups such as supplying goat specialty restaurants of cooperative members. The processed products Tuan Thao sour goat meat, Tuan Thao goat ham, Tuan Thao sour meat have been recognized as 3-star OCOP standards for consumption in the province's OCOP product display booths and on e-commerce trading floors. With the support of the Provincial Cooperative Union, diversifying distribution channels not only optimizes product value but also helps the cooperative diversify revenue sources, minimize risks and ensure sustainable development”.

Not only Tat Thang Agricultural and Forestry Cooperative, currently, for agricultural cooperatives, in addition to creating favorable conditions in terms of mechanisms, policies, supporting development, increasing local budget revenue, cooperative members also have the opportunity to learn modern, sustainable and safe production methods. Thanks to that, many cooperatives have proactively developed production and business plans, expanded the provision of many services, diversified industries, applied technical advances, brought mechanization into production, organized services from input to processing, product consumption, and at the same time implemented production linkages between cooperatives, farming households and enterprises. Thanks to that, the scale and level of production have changed positively.

Along with that, in order to "support" agricultural cooperatives, the Provincial Cooperative Union proactively integrates resources to implement projects applying new science and technology to production and business; deploying models to support design, printing of packaging, irrigation systems, fertilizers, seeds, etc. of cooperatives; assisting cooperatives with the capacity to access support policies of the province such as: National target program for socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas, etc.; coordinating to organize training for thousands of trainees who are managers, members, and workers in cooperatives on cooperative management, accounting, accounting and electronic tax declaration; skills in applying information technology and digital platforms to promote and advertise products. At the same time, promoting trade; building OCOP products for cooperatives; applying production processes according to VietGAP standards; guiding and supporting agricultural cooperatives to register and build product brands for agricultural products.

The province currently has over 49,000 members participating in cooperatives operating in the agricultural sector. Last year, the average revenue reached over 2.2 billion VND/cooperative/year; the average profit reached 81.5 million VND/cooperative/year. The total number of regular workers in the cooperative is nearly 4,000 people; the average income of regular workers in the cooperative is 4 million VND/person/month. Cooperatives have always maintained effective and sustainable operations over the years, such as: Hung Lo Rice Noodle Cooperative; Tu Xa Safe Vegetable Production and Processing Cooperative; Thanh Son - Phu Tho Sour Meat Cooperative; Long Coc Tea Production and Processing Cooperative... In particular, many cooperative models have appeared applying science, technology and high technology; Linking in the production of products such as: Cordyceps, herbal tea, green tea, salted chicken... Since then, the income of members has been raised, the cooperative has actively contributed to building new rural areas, developing community tourism in the locality.
