Protecting, caring for and educating children is one of the core tasks of the Youth Union. In recent years, the Youth Union at all levels has paid attention to and implemented many practical activities imbued with the spirit of "All for beloved juniors". From there, creating conditions for children to study, play, practice and develop comprehensively.

Many practical activities

This summer is probably the happiest summer for the family of Vang A Phang (5 years old, My A area, Thu Cuc commune, Tan Son district) when the functions on his face will be almost fully restored from now on. Phang was unfortunately born with a cleft palate, which affects his eating and speaking; his family is in difficult circumstances, his parents do not have stable jobs. Surgery for Phang to have a healthy face and complete functions is very difficult.

Knowing Phang's situation, the Youth Union of Tan Son District Medical Center connected with the Volunteer Doctors Association (Hanoi City) to cover all the surgery costs for him at the National Children's Hospital. The association also supported Phang's medicine and nutrition after the surgery. Up to now, Phang's health has stabilized, and his facial functions have almost recovered. Ms. Vang Thi Do, Phang's mother, shared: My family is extremely touched and grateful to the doctors. After the surgery, my child has healed completely, and his facial functions have almost recovered. He is no longer self-conscious with his friends. Since the surgery, my family's life has changed a lot.

To help children and young people exchange, learn and express their opinions and aspirations on social issues; at the same time, to demonstrate the concern of the Party Committee, People's Council, local government and Youth Union for the work of protecting, caring for andeducating children, Tam Nong District Youth Union organized a meeting, contact and dialogue program between leaders of the Party Committee, delegates of the Provincial People's Council, local government and children in 2025 at Huong Non Secondary School.

At the program, over 400 students of Huong Non Secondary School gave their opinions and recommendations on issues such as: Child care, solutions to support children in difficult circumstances to continue going to school; measures to reduce injuries in general and drowning in particular; programs to help children develop social skills and self-defense against violent acts; measures to prevent the use of electronic cigarettes in schools. Along with that, the students expressed their concerns about the situation of school violence; the current negative content appearing on social networks; proposed the need to open more clubs for entertainment, recreation, and training for children in the summer...

Youth Union of Tan Son District Medical Center visited and gave gifts to Vang A Phang (5 years old, My A area, Thu Cuc commune, Tan Son district).

The Provincial People's Council delegates and leaders of Huong Non commune received and thoroughly answered the opinions and recommendations; provided directions to help children have the best environment for studying and practicing. At the same time, information about specific solutions, plans, and action programs in the work of educating, caring for, and protecting children to help children better understand the rights and obligations of children as well as the efforts of all levels, sectors, agencies and organizations in the district that have been implemented in the past time.

The District Youth Union - District Pioneer Council also presented gifts and red scarves to the school's students to encourage and motivate them to excel in their studies and training.

As an organization representing the voices and aspirations of children; supervising the implementation of children's rights, the Youth Union at all levels has established and effectively operated models, playgrounds, and clubs for children such as: "Young Reporters", "Children's Rights", "Ensuring Traffic Safety"; "Prevention and Combat of School Violence", "Gender Equality"...

Through the clubs, children are able to improve their knowledge and skills in caring for and protecting themselves, knowledge of the Law on Children, and children's rights. At the same time, they can have fun, participate in cultural and artistic activities, sports ; exchange and learn, share their thoughts, aspirations and express their wishes or worries and risks that may happen to them. From there, create a healthy playground, helping children to be more proactive, creative and confident in life.

Many children have boldly discussed with teachers, parents and relatives about their rights, duties, dreams about their careers and future... The activities of the clubs have directly impacted the children's awareness and indirectly impacted their families and schools as well as attracted the attention of the Party Committee, local authorities and society about protecting, caring for and educating children.

Meeting, contact and dialogue program between leaders of Party committees, delegates of Provincial People's Council, local authorities and children in 2025 at Huong Non Secondary School.

Child care work, focusing on children in difficult circumstances, is organized in a diverse and regular manner with activities such as awarding "Support to School" scholarships; presenting "Red Scarf House", "Toilet for Children" projects and giving gifts, books, and school supplies to students in difficult circumstances; organizing festivals and playgrounds. Effectively implementing the project "Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union promotes children's participation in children's issues" in 2024... In the 2024-2025 school year, the whole province has over 145 "For Beloved Younger Children" projects with a total value of over 900 million VND, helping over 25,000 children...

Through meaningful and practical activities, the Youth Union chapters at all levels in the province have affirmed their role in caring for and educating children. In the 2024-2025 school year, the whole province has 1,199 children achieving the title of "Good Children of Uncle Ho" at the district level; 100 children achieving the title of "Good Children of Uncle Ho" at the provincial level and 8 outstanding children being honored at the 10th National Congress of Good Children of Uncle Ho in 2025.

Comrade Bui Duc Giang - Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union affirmed: With responsibility and love for children, the Youth Union and Pioneers at all levels have constantly innovated the content and methods of operation, effectively implemented movements and campaigns to care for and educate children, creating many useful and healthy playgrounds for children, especially during peak occasions such as Summer, Mid-Autumn Festival... Helping children practice skills, foster knowledge, form qualities, personalities, and have a good lifestyle.
