Prize structure and opportunities to participate in the international round.

At the AIMO National Finals for the 2025-2026 academic year, contestants who achieve outstanding results and meet the minimum score threshold set by the Organizing Committee will be considered for medals and certificates.

The prize structure includes Gold Medals, Silver Medals, and Bronze Medals.

The top-performing students who meet the international AIMO standards in each grade level will be nominated for the Vietnam AIMO Team. This team will represent the nation at the 2026 AIMO International Finals in Hanoi , offering the opportunity to interact and compete with peers from over 20 countries and territories.

Besides honoring individuals, AIMO also recognizes the role of schools. Schools with many participating students, award winners, or outstanding achievements will be featured in the Organizing Committee's media platforms, websites, social media, and affiliated channels.

This is a way to encourage educational institutions to continue focusing on teaching mathematics in English, fostering students' critical thinking skills, and creating an environment for developing academic talent.

AIMO - a playground for critical thinking for the global generation of students.

The Asia International Mathematical Olympiad (AIMO) is an international mathematics competition initiated by the Asian Mathematical Olympiad Association in 2012. After more than a decade of development, AIMO has become one of the most prestigious mathematics competitions in the Asian region and has expanded its influence to many countries and territories.
Each year, AIMO attracts approximately 150,000 students from over 20 countries and territories, including China, Japan, South Korea, Russia, India, Brazil, Singapore, Turkey, Taiwan, and Vietnam.

What makes AIMO unique is that the exam is conducted entirely in English, following international standards. This makes the competition a double challenge for students.
Students not only need a solid foundation in mathematics, logical thinking skills, and problem-solving abilities, but also need to hone their skills in reading and understanding English-language exam questions, accurately grasping the requirements, and processing information within a time limit.

Vietnam officially joined AIMO in 2019 and quickly established its position with over 220 international medals. In 2025 alone, Vietnam achieved its highest ever results with the Championship title, 10 Gold Medals, 7 Silver Medals, and 4 Bronze Medals, affirming Vietnamese intellectual prowess on the international mathematics map.

Under the direction of the Central Youth Union, the competition is jointly organized by Tien Phong Newspaper and Hanoi University of Science and Technology. Tien Phong Joint Stock Company, Hoa Hoc Tro publication, and Thien Than Nho are the implementing units. This year's competition continues to mark the deeper involvement of reputable units in the fields of journalism, education, and academia in building an internationally standardized mathematics competition for high school students.
