From October 1, 2024, in order to comply with Decree No. 52/2024/ND-CP regulating non-cash payments, Circular No. 17/2024/TT-NHNN regulating the opening and use of payment accounts at payment service providers, SHB deploys the EKYC online payment account opening flow with biometric authentication with a new process. At the customer information authentication step,
SHB integrates the authentication of customers' biometric information as soon as they open a new eKYC online payment account. Customers will go through the following steps:
- Step 1: Take a photo of your ID card (front/back)
- Step 2: Read the chip information (NFC) attached to the Citizen ID card
- Step 3: Face verification (Liveness check)
The SHB system will check the integrity of the identification documents, the validity of the chip, and compare the collected biometric information of the customer with the biometric data stored in the encrypted information storage of the citizen identification card or the identity card that has been authenticated by the police. Then, the customer will receive the result of successfully opening an online payment account. Biometrics is an advanced security method that helps limit forms of forgery and fraud by comparing the customer's biometric information with the information stored on the Citizen Identification Card authenticated by
the Ministry of Public Security each time a transaction occurs. Thanks to that, customer transactions are guaranteed to be safe and smooth, meeting the provisions of the law.
*Conditions for customers to register for the product: New individual customers who do not have a CIF at SHB; Customers aged 18 or older; Customers with a
valid Citizen Identification Card or Identity Card . With the EKYC online biometric authentication flow, your account will have a transaction limit of up to 300,000,000 VND/month. For new online payment accounts opened before October 1, 2024, SHB still applies a transaction limit of 100,000,000 VND/month. In case customers want to increase their account usage limit and register to use other SHB products/services, customers should go to SHB transaction points to identify themselves at the Counter and/or follow the announcement/instructions for implementation from time to time, if any.
