Over 385 hectares of bananas in Hong An and Tien Duc communes were broken by storm No. 3.

According to preliminary statistics of the Steering Committee for Flood and Storm Prevention and Control of Hung Ha district, due to strong winds and heavy rain, as of 7:00 p.m. on September 7, the whole district had more than 8,000 hectares of ripe rice that had fallen; 2,200 hectares of unripe rice that had not yet ripened were crushed; 1,215 fruit trees were severely damaged; concentrated in the alluvial plains along the Red River, Luoc River, and Tra Ly River, of which 385 hectares of bananas were fallen, with an estimated damage of about 1 million bunches concentrated in the communes of Hong An and Tien Duc; over 1,000 hectares of vegetables were flooded; many constructions, houses, farms, and ranches had their corrugated iron roofs flipped over. In addition, 15/15 medium-voltage power lines in the district had problems causing power outages affecting nearly 100,000 customers; 50 power poles were broken, many points had broken wires, and meter boxes were damaged...

To overcome the consequences of storm No. 3, Hung Ha district mobilized forces to quickly clear trees and corrugated iron roofs to clear traffic; at the same time, mobilized 30 trucks, 2 cranes, and thousands of sandbags to handle vulnerable points in localities when incidents occurred. The district's Electricity Department alone arranged over 80 officers and employees to handle and fix electrical problems for the people. The Hung Ha district's Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Control directed all levels, sectors, and localities to closely monitor the developments of rain and storms to proactively respond to possible situations.
