The route passing through Chau Ly commune (Quy Hop district) to Tan Hop commune (Tan Ky district) was previously divided by Phi Lua slope - a dangerous rocky slope named by the locals. For many years, people were forced to climb over the dangerous rocky slope to move, causing many obstacles in daily life, trade, and production.

In 2022, the inter-district road project from Choong village - Bon village, Chau Ly commune (Quy Hop) to Tan Hop commune (Tan Ky) officially started. The route is more than 13 km long, of which nearly 1 km crosses Phi Lua slope, which is the most difficult section of the entire route to construct.
The construction unit representative said: The construction of this slope encountered many difficulties due to the rugged rocky terrain. To cut the mountain and lower the height of more than 12m past the top, the unit used up to 18 tons of rock-breaking mines for nearly 2 years of continuous construction. Up to now, the road has been cleared, and auxiliary items such as slopes, asphalt, guardrails, and drainage ditches are being completed.

Being present at the foot of Phi Lua slope these days, I can feel the excitement of the people of the two districts when the new asphalt road has been formed, the road has been paved with smooth asphalt winding through the steep cliffs. People on both sides can now easily connect after 5 minutes of moving to cross the slope.
Ms. Vi Thi Lan, a resident of Chau Ly commune, Quy Hop district, shared: “Previously, if I wanted to go to Tan Hop to harvest sugarcane for hire, I had to leave at 3am and return home late at night. Now that there is a new road, it only takes about 5 minutes to get there, so convenient!”

Mr. Vi Quan Giang - Vice Chairman of Quy Hop District People's Committee, said: "Since the opening of this mountain road, the distance from Chau Ly commune to Tan Hop commune is only 11 km, instead of having to go around Ha Son commune, a distance of 50 km as before."
Putting this route into use not only helps people in their daily life and production, but also creates a lever for socio -economic development for the southwestern communes of Quy Hop district such as Chau Ly, Chau Cuong, Chau Thai, Chau Quang and Quy Hop town.

With the new route, trading activities, agricultural product transportation, opening raw material areas, connecting eco-tourism , etc. are expected to flourish, contributing to helping this area escape poverty and gradually develop sustainably.
