Mass recall of health protection foods

The Food Safety Department (Ministry of Health) has continuously posted decisions to revoke the validity of product registration certificates for a series of health protection foods.

Most recently, the Food Safety Department issued a decision to revoke the validity of the product declaration registration certificate for 18 health protection foods of Abbott Healthcare Vietnam Company Limited.

Abbott Healthcare Vietnam Co., Ltd. (formerly Glomed Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.), address 35 Tu Do Avenue, Vietnam Singapore Industrial Park, An Phu Ward, Thuan An City, Binh Duong Province.

According to this decision, the recall is carried out at the request of the enterprise itself. Based on Document No. AHVN23/RA-082 dated October 20, 2023 of Abbott Healthcare Vietnam Co., Ltd. regarding the withdrawal of documents related to health protection food products.

The recalled products belong to the SURBEX® product line, including products such as: SURBEX® BRAIN BOOST 60T, SURBEX® NATURAL LIVER BOOST, SURBEX® NATURAL MEN VITALITY, SURBEX® NATURAL HAIR..., with certificates of acceptance issued in the period from 2018 to 2021.

Previously, the Food Safety Department also decided to revoke the validity of the registration certificate of the health protection food product Ich Giap Vuong Gold announced by Akopha France Trading Company Limited.

The Department has also decided to revoke the validity of the product declaration registration certificate No. 10870/2021/DKSP dated December 15, 2021 of the health protection food product HIUP, announced by Alama Vietnam Trading and Technology Company Limited (address: 5th floor, Lang Trung building, No. 60, group 33, lane 850, Lang Road, Lang Thuong ward, Dong Da district, Hanoi ).

Recalls are made at the request of the company.

According to the Food Safety Department, this is a procedure in state management activities when a business requests a product recall.

Publicizing the list of recalled products is necessary to protect consumer rights and at the same time enhance the responsibility of production and business units in complying with food safety regulations.

The detailed list of recalled products is publicly posted on the Food Safety Department's electronic information portal at https://vfa.gov.vn.

The Department also recommends that consumers pay attention to official information from authorities to buy/use safe and regulated food.
