Invited by his close friend Nguyen Anh Duc to reinforce the defense of Truong Tuoi Binh Phuoc Club, veteran goalkeeper Bui Tan Truong wants to devote all his efforts to bringing the team to promotion to V-League.
Tan Truong signed a 1.5 season contract with Binh Phuoc Club (playing in the National First Division 2023-2024), after ending his contract with Hanoi Club. He had his first training session on the afternoon of March 4 with the new team.

Tuoi Tre Online had a conversation with the former goalkeeper of the Vietnam national team about his upcoming journey.
Tan Truong wants to help the club get promoted
* What brought you to Binh Phuoc football team? - Anh Duc and I are friends, close friends when we were players. Anh Duc (currently the head coach of Binh Phuoc Club) invited me to join the club, and I think this is also the right time for me to leave. Firstly, the two goalkeepers Nguyen Van Hoang and Quan Van Chuan (Hanoi Club) have been playing very stably. Secondly, I also want to play closer to home in Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Thap . * Can you share about your friend Anh Duc - head coach of Binh Phuoc Club? - Anh Duc as a player and coach are two different people. As a player, he practices and competes well and achieves high results. As a coach, he must have an overview, study the playing style, analyze suitable people to achieve the goals assigned by the leaders. * What is Tan Truong's goal at the new club? - For now, I want to integrate quickly with my teammates. I want to help the team play steadily, and initially get used to the atmosphere of professional football. I will support my teammates, help them understand and prepare well for professional football. You know that the First Division is far from the V-League. The team's leaders want to promote Binh Phuoc Club to play in the V-League and I also want to contribute to completing this goal. Of course, my return does not mean that I can help the team get promoted to the V-League immediately. The club needs to change gradually and time will prove it.

Play well for yourself
* You once planned to retire in 2020, but everything has changed? - The life of a player, like a person, has turning points. The important thing is whether you are lucky at that time or not. When the opportunity opened up for me and Hanoi Club, I was determined and achieved many successes with the team. * There were many times when mentioning the name Tan Truong, the audience no longer believed? - People talked a lot about me, like talking forever until I became numb. I don't care what people say. I know my ability. I play football for myself, for my family. I play well, the team achieves results, then the team calls me back. I don't play with the goal of returning to the national team or try to play well because people say. I don't have to prove it to anyone. I see, my family knows, the team believes in me. The best way is to focus on work. When the coach and teammates recognize me, they give me opportunities and trust. A player who wants to shine has nothing but good training. The audience will ask themselves why he plays well but is being criticized. * Do you plan to become a coach in the future? - For now, I signed a 1.5 season contract with Binh Phuoc Club as a player. Therefore, my task is to train and play well. The club pays me to hire me, but I think I'm going back here to retire, so why would I come back? I don't have to go back to Binh Phuoc to retire.
