For nearly a month now, Giàng Seo Pùa has moved his 260-hive honeybee colony to Bản Phố commune. In just a few days, he will harvest his first crop of honey from the Bidens pilosa flowers. With 5 years of experience in the profession, Pùa regularly moves his bee colonies from North to South according to the flowering season to collect honey, thereby bringing a fairly high and stable income to his family.
Mr. Giàng Seo Pùa, from Bản Dù village, Bảo Nhai commune, Bắc Hà district, shared: "The joy of a beekeeper like me is seeing the bees bring home honey. With over 200 beehives, my family earns about 200 million VND per year. After deducting investment and travel expenses, we have about 150 million VND left."

Considered a leading beekeeping expert in Ban Du village, Bao Nhai commune, Mr. Giang Seo Tenh has not only expanded his bee colony to 300 hives but also shared his experience and supported other households in the village who wanted to participate in beekeeping. To date, Ban Du village has 5 households engaged in beekeeping, with the number of hives ranging from a few dozen to hundreds. They have also partnered with 7 beekeeping farms inside and outside the province to ensure a stable market for their products.
Mr. Giàng Seo Tếnh, from Bản Dù village, Bảo Nhai commune, Bắc Hà district, said: "Since 2013, thanks to beekeeping, my family's life has completely changed. We've built a spacious house and bought all the necessary household items. Every year, after deducting expenses, my family earns about 200 million VND, and in good years, it can reach 250 million VND."

Ms. Do Thi Hoa, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Bao Nhai commune, Bac Ha district, added: "Based on the economic effectiveness of these households, many other households in the commune have learned from them and started beekeeping. The commune is also aiming to build this forest honey brand into an OCOP product in the near future."

Currently, Bac Ha has dozens of households raising honeybees. On average, each beekeeping farm yields 5,000 to 10,000 liters of honey per year, selling for 200,000 to 250,000 VND per liter. In addition, bee pollen also sells for approximately 150,000 VND per kilogram. Beekeeping not only provides a stable income for many households in Bac Ha and other localities in the province, but also contributes to the successful implementation of economic development and sustainable poverty reduction goals in the area.
