Following the activities within the framework of the visit to Oman, on September 24, Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Minh Hang and Omani Deputy Foreign Minister Khalifa Bin Ali Al Harthy co-chaired the 4th Vietnam-Oman Political Consultation and had a meeting with the Oman Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion.
In the spirit of sincerity, openness and trust, at the Political Consultation, the two sides reviewed the implementation, coordination and results achieved since the 3rd session up to now; exchanged in-depth opinions on measures to strengthen relations between the two Foreign Ministries , contributing to bringing the Vietnam-Oman relationship into a new stage of development.
Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Hang affirmed that Vietnam attaches importance to the friendship and multifaceted cooperation with Oman, and believes that Oman will continue to develop strongly and successfully implement the "Oman Vision 2040".
Appreciating Vietnam's socio-economic development achievements, Deputy Minister Khalifa Bin Ali Al Harthy emphasized that the two countries share many similarities from natural conditions, people to the aspiration to develop the country quickly and sustainably, contributing to regional and international peace.
The two Deputy Foreign Ministers said that the two countries have many similarities, their economic sectors are complementary, and there is still much potential and room to develop multifaceted cooperation on par with high political trust and on the basis of the successful foundations of the Vietnam-Oman Investment Fund and the New Era Growth Investment Fund.

The two sides agreed to promote the exchange of delegations at all levels, especially high-ranking leaders; increase bilateral trade turnover, promote investment cooperation in areas such as food security, fisheries cooperation, logistics, artificial intelligence, renewable energy, etc., and organize cultural introduction activities and enhance people-to-people exchanges between the two sides.
The two sides also agreed to strengthen coordination and mutual support at multilateral, international and regional forums, especially within the framework of the United Nations and the ASEAN-GCC cooperation mechanism.
Introducing Vietnam's policies and guidelines in the new development era, especially institutional innovations and the development of an international financial center, Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Hang called on Oman to introduce and encourage investors to learn about and cooperate in investing in technology infrastructure projects as well as the international financial center in Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang.
Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Hang proposed that Oman support Vietnam in developing the Halal industry, provide scholarships for Vietnamese students to study in Oman, and act as a bridge to promote Vietnam-GCC relations, including negotiating and signing the Vietnam-GCC Free Trade Agreement this year.

Sharing that the current international context is still full of complex and unpredictable developments, Deputy Minister Khalifa Bin Ali Al Harthy reaffirmed that Vietnam, a dynamic economy, with stable politics, fast growth and many prospects in the Asia-Pacific, is an important partner in Oman's Eastward policy.
Deputy Foreign Minister Khalifa Bin Ali Al Harthy affirmed that he would create favorable conditions for Vietnamese enterprises to invest and export goods to Oman and through Oman to access the Middle East, African markets and Oman's large partner markets. Deputy Minister Khalifa Bin Ali Al Harthy said he was ready to support the Vietnam-GCC FTA.
Emphasizing that Vietnam has emerged as an attractive tourism market for Omani visitors, the Omani Deputy Minister suggested that both sides create conditions to promote people-to-people exchanges, consider opening permanent representative offices and direct flights between the two countries.
Discussing the world and regional situation, the two sides affirmed to promote multilateralism, international cooperation, and resolve disputes by peaceful means in accordance with international law and the United Nations Charter.

At the meeting with Oman Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion Qais Mohammed Al Yousef, Chairman of the Vietnam Section of the Vietnam-Oman Joint Committee, Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Hang suggested that the two sides soon organize the 4th meeting of the Joint Committee between the two countries, negotiate and sign important agreements for bilateral cooperation; support the early launch of Vietnam-GCC FTA negotiations, support Vietnam in developing the Halal industry as well as create favorable conditions for Vietnamese products to enter the Oman market.
Appreciating Vietnam's strong development in recent times, Minister Qais Mohammed Al Yousef affirmed that the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion of Oman consistently supports Oman's policy of further deepening multifaceted cooperation with Vietnam.

Minister Qais Mohammed Al Yousef suggested that the two sides should soon organize activities to connect the two countries' business communities as well as sign agreements on economic, trade and investment cooperation.
On this occasion, Minister Qais Mohammed Al Yousef also sent congratulations on Vietnam's National Day and shared the losses that Vietnam had to suffer due to the impact of natural disasters and floods in recent times.
