Prime Minister appoints Border Guard Commander

(Chinhphu.vn) - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh signed Decision No. 2458/QD-TTg appointing Major General Vu Trung Kien, Deputy Commander of the Vietnam Coast Guard, to hold the position of Commander of the Border Guard (Major General Vu Trung Kien has just been promoted to the rank of Lieutenant General by the President).

Authorized by the President and Prime Minister, General Phan Van Giang, Minister of National Defense , presented the decision and flowers to congratulate Lieutenant General Vu Trung Kien (left).

Decision No. 2458/QD-TTg takes effect from the date of signing (November 7, 2025).

Before being appointed as Commander of the Border Guard, Comrade Vu Trung Kien held the position of Director of the Border Guard Reconnaissance Department. In October 2021, he was transferred and appointed to the position of Deputy Commander of the Law Department of the Vietnam Coast Guard.
