Prime Minister directs new series of issues on 2025 summer vacation for 22 million students

The above information is stated in Official Dispatch 61/CD-TTg dated May 10 of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on organizing the high school graduation exam, ensuring the staffing of preschool and general education teachers and summer vacation for children and students in 2025.

The Head of Government has placed his hopes on the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET), the People's Committees of provinces and cities, as well as the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the Central Council of the Young Pioneers, through a series of specific instructions.

This move shows a deep concern for creating a summer that is not only fun but also rewarding and safe for students across the country.

Accordingly, the Prime Minister requested the People's Committees of provinces and centrally-run cities to direct and guide relevant agencies and organizations, closely coordinate with the Youth Union and mass organizations to create an environment for children to have healthy entertainment, practice life skills, participate in foreign language, cultural, artistic, sports and physical development activities.

The Prime Minister mentioned mobilizing and encouraging artists, artisans, athletes, and experts to organize cultural, artistic, and sports activities and develop talents.

The goal is to create a suitable environment for learning and using foreign languages ​​in the community, while creating healthy recreational activities that attract the participation of children, pupils and students.

This is expected to make an important contribution to educating ethics, lifestyle, behavioral culture, life skills and improving the effectiveness of comprehensive education.

In addition, the telegram also reminded localities to strengthen propaganda and education on accident and drowning prevention, invest in facilities for physical education, art, foreign language clubs and organize swimming lessons in educational institutions.

Regarding the education sector, the Prime Minister requested the Ministry of Education and Training to direct and guide localities and educational institutions to strengthen coordination between schools and families to create conditions for students to have fun, participate in cultural and artistic activities, practice physical training and life skills, and at the same time strictly manage to avoid accidents and injuries.

The Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the Central Council of the Young Pioneers are assigned to proactively propose and coordinate the implementation of propaganda and education on culture, arts, physical education, sports, life skills and accident and drowning prevention for students.

According to statistics, more than 22 million children and students nationwide are preparing to finish the school year and are about to have summer vacation. Most localities will organize the closing ceremony of the 2024-2025 school year before May 31 and let students have summer vacation starting June 1.
