Vietnam Maritime University held the ceremony of assigning tasks for the academic year

GD&TĐ - On the morning of September 23, Vietnam Maritime University held the assignment ceremony for the 2025-2026 school year.

Attending the program were Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Xuan Sang, along with leaders of departments under the Ministry of Construction; leaders of Hai Phong City, distinguished guests from within and outside the country, all teachers, staff, employees and new students of Course 66.

At the assignment ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Pham Xuan Duong, Principal of the school emphasized: With the extremely valuable qualities that have been forged through nearly 70 years of construction and growth of the children of the sea: "Intelligence, Courage, Courage, Enthusiasm and Love", all staff, lecturers and students of Vietnam Maritime University have always been united, overcome all difficulties and challenges, promoted the spirit of daring to think, daring to do, dynamism, creativity and have excellently completed the tasks of the 2024-2025 school year.

The school's admissions work is always innovated, the benchmark scores of many majors have reached the top of the country's leading schools.

The school is always proactive in applying technology and digital transformation in management, training organization, and in directing and operating all activities, and has created a modern, advanced, practical and effective working, teaching, learning and scientific research environment.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Xuan Duong, Principal of the school, delivered a speech assigning tasks for the school year.

The school's scientists have carried out 171 research topics at all levels, 94 scientific articles published in ISI/Scopus journals and other international journals. The school's students have carried out 162 topics with 31 scientific publications (with Scopus), 19 physical models, 28 software/websites/application solutions; 2 students won the National Championship of the World Office Informatics Competition and represented Vietnam to compete in the Final Round in Florida (USA).

With the above achievements, the School was awarded the title "Excellent Labor Collective" and "Excellent Emulation Flag" by the Ministry of Construction. Many individuals were awarded Certificates of Merit and emulation titles at the Ministry and City levels.

15 students with high entrance scores were awarded by school leaders.

Entering the 2025-2026 school year, Associate Professor Dr. Pham Xuan Duong earnestly called on teachers, officers and staff to, with their responsibilities, be proactive, creative and proactive in applying digital transformation in management, teaching, teaching services and scientific research; uphold the spirit of responsibility, truly be an example, be the nucleus of solidarity to excellently complete all assigned tasks.

To the new students, the Principal advised them to live, study and practice following the example of their predecessors, always have ambitions, ideals in life and the will to overcome difficulties to rise up; they must always have the determination and courage to stay away from the temptations of everyday life.

Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Xuan Sang acknowledged and highly appreciated the achievements that Vietnam Maritime University has achieved. At the same time, the Deputy Minister expressed his belief that with the tradition of a heroic school, with a history of nearly 70 years of construction and development, a team of competent and dedicated staff, students trained and coached in an environment that meets international standards, the school will continue to achieve more success in the coming time and always maintain its leading role in the field of training high-quality human resources for the Transport industry, the Construction industry in particular and for the country in general.

Recognizing the successes and great contributions of Vietnam Maritime University to the country's development strategy in the recent period, on September 5, 2025, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 1901/QD-TTg approving the Project "Building Vietnam Maritime University into a national key university in training and research to serve the sustainable development of the marine economy in the period up to 2030, with a vision to 2025". This is an important milestone for the University to continue to develop strongly in a new stature, contributing more to the Country. On the morning of September 23, Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Xuan Sang had a working session with the University to implement the above Decision.
