Na Giang High School builds a comprehensive educational environment in the border area

Located in Ban Bo hamlet, Ha Quang commune, a borderland rich in revolutionary tradition, Na Giang High School is the "school of the mountains", where children from many highland and border communes entrust their dreams of studying and rising up.

The area is large, transportation is difficult, the economy mainly depends on agriculture, many households are poor, and the educational level is uneven, all of which make the journey of sowing knowledge here more challenging.

Ms. Nong Thi Hue , Party Cell Secretary and Principal of the school, shared: “Most of the school’s students are ethnic minority children, many of whom live far away, in border areas, and whose family circumstances are still difficult. But it is in the midst of hardship that the will and spirit of overcoming difficulties of teachers and students are further fostered, becoming a beautiful tradition of this over 60-year-old school.”

Innovation, creativity, improving the quality of education

Overcoming the situation, the collective of Na Giang High School constantly innovates teaching and learning methods, improves professional capacity, and affirms its position in the education system of Cao Bang province.

The school currently has 36 cadres, teachers and staff, 100% of whom are qualified and above standard, of which nearly 20% are above standard, nearly 90% are party members. Many teachers have achieved the title of Provincial Excellent Teacher, Provincial Emulation Fighter, and received Certificates of Merit from the Ministry of Education and Training.

The school is interested in implementing the movement of innovating teaching methods, applying information technology, participating in professional competitions such as "Designing electronic lectures", "Creative challenges with STEM"...

Teacher Nong Thi Hue, Party Cell Secretary and Principal of Na Giang High School, spoke at an experiential education program of the school.

Thanks to that effort, the quality of both general and specialized education has been improved. In the past 5 years, the percentage of students with good and excellent academic results has reached over 60%, with good training being nearly 82%, and the graduation rate is always above 90%.

In the 2024-2025 school year alone, 34/394 students achieved the title of Excellent Student, with 98.48% achieving academic results and 100% achieving training results; 16/22 candidates achieved provincial excellent student exam results, equivalent to 77.73%; many students won prizes in provincial competitions such as science and technology, IOE, "Reading Culture Ambassador", "Youth and Children's Creativity", Athletics - Basketball Competition...

In addition, emulation, reward, summary and commendation activities are held regularly, motivating teachers and students to continue to strive.

Principal Nong Thi Hue added: “We always consider quality as a vital factor. If we want students to progress, first of all, the staff, teachers and employees must be dedicated, committed and creative in each lesson. Each teacher not only imparts knowledge, but also instills in students confidence, will and dreams.”

Thanks to its persistent efforts, for many consecutive years the school has achieved the title of "Excellent Labor Collective" and received a Certificate of Merit from the Provincial People's Committee and the Ministry of Education and Training. In the 2021 - 2022 school year, the school was honored to receive the Emulation Flag from the Prime Minister.

The school's Party Cell has been continuously ranked as "Excellently completing its tasks", and was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Ha Quang District Party Committee in recognition of the Party Cell's "Excellent completion of the XSNV" standard, a bright spot in the Party work of the education sector.

Focus on comprehensive education, cultivating personality and life skills

Not only focusing on teaching, Na Giang High School also considers comprehensive education as the foundation for shaping students' personalities. Extracurricular activities, culture, sports, youth movement, volunteer activities, life skills education are regularly and richly implemented by the school.

Every year, the school organizes many meaningful activities such as "Border Lessons", STEM Festival with the theme "Touching Science - Connecting the Future", "Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Festival", extracurricular activities to propagate law, environmental protection, drug prevention, propaganda, and promotion of the UNESCO Non Nuoc Cao Bang Global Geopark heritage. These "out-of-class lessons" have helped students understand more deeply about their homeland, and love and be proud of the revolutionary land.

Na Giang High School has a 63-year tradition of construction and development.

The school's Youth Union has well organized hobby clubs, sports playgrounds such as volleyball, soccer, the "Youth Dance" contest, and experiential tours to the Pac Bo National Monument, Tran Hung Dao Forest, etc., which have contributed to training skills, inspiring creativity and connecting the collective spirit of students. In the 2023-2024 school year, the school's Youth Union was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Cao Bang Provincial Youth Union for its outstanding achievements in youth union work and youth movements.

After 63 years of construction and development, from the first class with only 35 students during the years when the country was still in turmoil, Na Giang High School today has grown to become a school with a long tradition, prestige and proud achievements.

Ms. Nong Thi Hue affirmed: “The depth of tradition is a solid foundation, belief and motivation for teachers and students to continue to strive, compete to teach well, study well, maintain the title of Excellent Labor Collective, worthy of the noble awards given by the Party and State.”

The school is being proposed to the Prime Minister for a Certificate of Merit, a worthy reward for the tireless efforts of generations of teachers and students in the border region of Ha Quang.
