Prime Minister: "In just 9 months, Vietnam welcomed 3 major leaders to visit"

(Dan Tri) - Foreign affairs is one of the outstanding achievements summarized by the Prime Minister , citing that in just 9 months, Vietnam welcomed 3 major leaders to visit: Xi Jinping, Joe Biden and Vladimir Putin.
On the afternoon of July 31, within the framework of his State visit to India, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation attended the inauguration ceremony of the Vietnamese Embassy in India and met with officials, staff of the Embassy and the Vietnamese community in India. Vietnamese Ambassador to India Nguyen Thanh Hai believes that this visit of the Prime Minister will bring the relationship between the two countries to a new height. Millions of people lined the streets to see off General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong Reporting on the situation of the Vietnamese community in India, Ambassador Nguyen Thanh Hai said that the number of Vietnamese people in India is currently about 500 people, scattered in various localities. Of which, the number of monks and nuns, and Vietnamese people studying Buddhism in India accounts for a fairly large proportion.

Ms. Tran Thi Hai Thanh, an overseas Vietnamese living in Mumbai, is a Vietnamese who won the title of Miss Entrepreneur in Mumbai, and shared that she is always proud of being Vietnamese. Thanking the Party and State for issuing many policies and creating conditions for overseas Vietnamese to be more attached to their homeland and country, the overseas Vietnamese affirmed her deep belief that Vietnam will develop more and more. Monk Thich Tuong Quang, representing overseas Vietnamese in Nepal and India, expressed his deep condolences on the passing of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong. He proposed that Vietnam exempt visas for Indian citizens in August and vice versa, and suggested that India exempt visas for Vietnamese citizens in May every year, so that people of the two countries can attend important events in each country during these times. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh shared his joy and emotion when meeting and talking with the Vietnamese community in India. Recalling the great loss of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong's recent passing, the Prime Minister emphasized that this is an irreparable loss for the Party, State and people of Vietnam.

According to the head of the Government , in recent days, Vietnam has held a state funeral for General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and welcomed more than 5,600 domestic and international delegations to pay their respects to General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, including the Security Advisor on behalf of the Prime Minister of India. "The affection for General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong was clearly shown during the days of national mourning, when millions of people stood along the route from the National Funeral House to Mai Dich Cemetery, the vast majority of whom were young people," the Prime Minister shared, emphasizing that this demonstrated the patriotism and responsibility of the young generation to the Fatherland and the people. That is a very good thing. The overseas Vietnamese community is an important resource of the country. Informing overseas Vietnamese about the situation in the country, the Prime Minister recalled the war wounds that Vietnam had to face in the past, and that wound, according to him, has not yet healed when there are still 300 martyrs without information. Looking back on the 35 years of renovation, the Prime Minister affirmed that Vietnam has achieved many historic achievements, as General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong once said, "Our country has never had the foundation, position, potential and international prestige like today". One of the outstanding achievements that the Prime Minister summarized in terms of foreign affairs results is that in just the past 9 months, Vietnam has welcomed 3 great leaders to visit with sincere feelings, including: General Secretary andPresident of China Xi Jinping; US President Joe Biden and Russian President Vladimir Putin.

In addition, the Prime Minister said that national security and defense were maintained, social order and safety were ensured. In terms of economy , GDP growth in the first 6 months of the year reached 6.42%, the macro economy was stable, major balances of the economy were ensured... Emphasizing those admirable and proud achievements, the Prime Minister acknowledged the contributions of the Vietnamese community abroad. However, in carrying out the upcoming tasks, the Prime Minister noted that they should not be subjective. The Prime Minister asked people to promote patriotism and the spirit of great national unity to contribute their efforts in each working position. The Prime Minister hoped that people would always turn towards their homeland and the Fatherland, no matter where they are, whatever they do, they are still children of Vietnam. According to the affirmation of the head of the Government, the Party and State always consider the Vietnamese community abroad an inseparable part and an important resource of the country. Therefore, the Party and State always pay attention, care and issue many mechanisms and policies for people to live, work and contribute to the homeland. Typically, the recent amendment of the Land Law and Housing Law, according to the Prime Minister, also aims at overseas Vietnamese with many new and more favorable points. The direction emphasized by the Prime Minister is to strengthen the relationship between the two countries to be more in-depth and effective and to strive to bring the Vietnam - India relationship to a new height.
