Prime Minister attends groundbreaking ceremony of school in Bat Mot border commune of Thanh Hoa province

On the afternoon of October 14, Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of Bat Mot Primary and Secondary Boarding School in the mountainous border commune of Bat Mot, Thanh Hoa province.

This is one of four projects that Thanh Hoa organized to start construction and inaugurate simultaneously in both direct and online forms, to welcome the 20th Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Congress, term 2025-2030.

Attending the event at Bat Mot commune were members of the Party Central Committee: Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son; Deputy Minister of National Defense , Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army Nguyen Tan Cuong; Deputy Minister of National Defense Pham Van Gau; Secretary of Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Doan Anh.

Also attending were leaders of central ministries, branches and Thanh Hoa province.

The projects that have been started and inaugurated include: Bat Mot Primary and Secondary Boarding School Project; Ham Rong Ward Social Housing Project; WHA Smart Technology 1 Industrial Park Infrastructure Investment and Business Project - Thanh Hoa; Children's Cultural Palace Project and Sports Center of Hac Thanh Ward.

Bat Mot Primary and Secondary Boarding School Project, with a total area of about 1.5 hectares; includes the following items: classroom buildings, headmaster building, multi-purpose building, traditional cultural house, library, sports ground, boarding and semi-boarding area for students, official housing for teachers and other auxiliary items. The project has a total investment of about 170 billion VND.

The school is one of six border schools in Thanh Hoa province to start construction in 2025 according to the Politburo's conclusion on investing in the construction of 248 boarding schools in land border communes.

The Social Housing Project in Ham Rong Ward, Thanh Hoa Province, includes 4 25-storey buildings with a total of 2,376 apartments; land use area of about 2.8 hectares; total investment of about 3,721 billion VND.

WHA Smart Technology Industrial Park Infrastructure Investment and Business Project in Hoang Son, Hoang Phu and Hoang Giang communes, Thanh Hoa province; with an area of 178.51 hectares, investing in construction and business of industrial park infrastructure; total investment capital of 1,320 billion VND.

The project of Children's Cultural Palace and Sports Center in Hac Thanh Ward, includes the following items: 7-storey block house; sports center including 2 soccer fields for practice; 2 basketball courts; 1 tennis court; indoor swimming pool; technical infrastructure and gates, fences; the project has a total investment of 247.85 billion VND.

Speaking at the event, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh highly appreciated the significance of the works and projects that Thanh Hoa simultaneously inaugurated and started on this occasion, contributing to socio-economic development, social security, especially works to care for the young generation and develop science and technology.

Recalling President Ho Chi Minh's words: "For the benefit of ten years, plant trees; for the benefit of a hundred years, cultivate people," the Prime Minister said that the Party and State identify education and training as the top national policy; investment in education and training is investment for development. Recently, the Politburo issued Resolution 71-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in education and training development; at the same time, decided to invest in and build 248 boarding schools in land border communes, including schools in 16 land border communes of Thanh Hoa province.

The Government has allocated funds to provinces and cities, including Thanh Hoa, to build boarding schools in land border communes.

Emphasizing the need to urgently start building schools in land border communes according to the Politburo's Conclusion, with the requirement of methodical, standard and thorough investment, the Prime Minister called on the State budget, organizations, individuals, and the whole society to join hands to build schools for students in land border communes, with the spirit of "whoever has something to help; whoever has merit helps merit, whoever has money helps money," the whole country launched a campaign in 2025-2026 to complete the construction of 248 boarding schools in land border communes.

Welcoming organizations, individuals and people to join hands in building Bat Mot Primary and Secondary Boarding School, the Prime Minister called on the Military Industry-Telecoms Group and the National Energy Industry Group to join hands with Thanh Hoa to build the School, preferably in the form of "turnkey."

Emphasizing that the construction of schools for students in border communes must be done with all the purity, heart and enthusiasm from the heart, for the cause of "growing people" to create the best conditions, nurture knowledge, create conditions for all children of Bat Mot to grow up, realize their dreams and aspirations, the Prime Minister requested to absolutely not let negativity, corruption, waste happen in the project; strive to complete Bat Mot Primary and Secondary Boarding School by mid-2026 so that students can welcome the 2026-2027 school year in the new school.

Requesting that along with building schools in the mainland border communes, Thanh Hoa must review to have a plan to support the construction of schools in localities with difficulties, especially schools damaged by storms and floods, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh hopes that students of Bat Mot Primary and Secondary Boarding School as well as students in Thanh Hoa province will be good and study well according to Uncle Ho's 5 teachings, worthy of the care of the Party, State, family and society for them.

On this occasion, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh presented meaningful gifts to Bat Mot Boarding School; presented gifts to people in Yen Nhan and Bat Mot communes who are facing difficulties due to natural disasters and floods; presented gifts of warm clothes to encourage students of Bat Mot Boarding School to overcome difficulties, be good and study well.

Responding to the call of the Prime Minister, the Ministry of National Defense, the Military Industry-Telecoms Group, and the National Energy Industry Group presented gifts to Bat Mot Inter-level Boarding School and the people and students of Bat Mot commune./.
