(CPV) - On the morning of December 10, in Hue city, the 9th session of the People's Council of Thua Thien Hue province, term VIII, 2021-2026, officially opened.

Speaking at the opening of the session, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Thua Thien Hue province Le Truong Luu said: The 9th session of the Provincial People's Council took place after the successful 8th session of the 15th National Assembly , deciding many important issues of the country in the new period; on November 30, 2024, the National Assembly voted to pass Resolution No. 175 on the establishment of Hue city under the central government with a very high approval rate, this is an important event that brings joy, marking a historic turning point for the Party Committee, government and more than 1.2 million people of Thua Thien Hue.

Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Thua Thien Hue province Le Truong Luu delivered the opening speech.

On behalf of the provincial leaders, Secretary of the Thua Thien Hue Provincial Party Committee Le Truong Luu respectfully expressed his sincere thanks to the provincial leaders, National Assembly deputies, departments, branches, and localities for their solidarity and tireless efforts; the companionship and sharing of voters and people of the province to contribute to making Thua Thien Hue province a centrally-run city.

The 9th session of the 8th Provincial People's Council is expected to take place over 2 days, from December 10 to 11, 2024, with many important contents. Provincial Party Secretary Le Truong Luu requested the Provincial People's Council delegates to uphold their sense of responsibility, promote their intelligence, focus on carefully studying reports, submissions, and draft resolutions to have quality opinions to participate in the contents of the session, meeting the trust and expectations of voters and people.

At this session, the Provincial People's Council will review and decide on important contents on the results of implementing socio-economic development tasks, ensuring national defense and security in 2024, and directions, tasks, and solutions for socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security in 2025.

The People's Council of Thua Thien Hue province will review the reports of the Standing Committee of the People's Council, the People's Committee, the People's Court, the People's Procuracy, and the Civil Judgment Enforcement Department of Thua Thien Hue province in accordance with the law. The Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council reports on the results of monitoring the settlement of voters' petitions; submits to the Provincial People's Council a decision to establish a Supervisory Delegation of the Provincial People's Council according to the 2025 supervision program; conducts questions and answers at the session on issues of concern to voters and public opinion through the activities of the People's Council, the People's Council Committees, and the People's Council Delegation Groups.

In order to promptly concretize the Party's guidelines and policies and the State's laws to meet practical development requirements, this session will review, discuss and is expected to pass 30 draft resolutions on groups of issues on land, finance, budget, public investment plan 2025; and issues related to staffing and number of people in state administrative agencies, public service units... ./.
