The conference was held in a hybrid format, combining in-person and online participation, with the attendance of the Executive Board members. Deputy Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Van Phuc, Head of the Executive Board of the National Key Program for the Development of Mathematics in the period 2021-2030, chaired the meeting.
On December 22, 2020, the Prime Minister signed Decision No. 2200/QD-TTg approving the National Key Program for the Development of Mathematics from 2021 to 2030, assigning the Ministry of Education and Training to lead the implementation of the Program, with the Institute for Advanced Studies in Mathematics as the permanent coordinating unit for the Program's implementation.
At the meeting, the Program Steering Committee presented a report on the results of the Mathematics program's activities during the first six months of the year, projected results for the last six months of 2025, and the implementation plan and tasks for the Mathematics program in 2026. They also sought feedback from delegates on the draft list of tasks for the national key program for the development of mathematics to be implemented in 2026.

According to the report of the Steering Committee of the National Key Program for the Development of Mathematics in the period 2021-2030, in the first six months of the year, the implementation results reached approximately 67% of the plan, and it is estimated that 100% of the tasks will be completed in 2025 as planned.
The Executive Board continues to promote the dissemination of mathematical knowledge through communication; encourage the publication of high-quality mathematical works; support the implementation of the general education mathematics program; support the training of talents and improve the quality of human resources in the field of mathematics; and promote international cooperation in research, application, and training in mathematics.
Media products on the role of mathematics in the fourth industrial revolution are progressing according to plan, including three articles introducing and communicating about mathematics and its applications, and several models related to mathematics and its applications.
Three open mathematics festivals were held with over 5,000 participants; eight lecture series on mathematics and its applications were also conducted. Other activities have been planned and are progressing on schedule.
The Executive Board has overseen and organized the implementation of approved ministerial-level science and technology projects; organized forums, conferences, and workshops to exchange ideas on modern models and methods of mathematics education and proposed solutions for Vietnam.
Training courses have been organized for nearly 400 high school and middle school mathematics teachers, with an emphasis on interdisciplinary approaches and connections with other subjects. Mathematics and STEM education activities for female students and teachers, as well as for students and teachers in remote areas, especially ethnic minorities, are being implemented according to plan.

Facilitate the process for scientists, organizations, and institutions to become official members and effectively utilize the resources and data of the two regional and global mathematical societies. Organize two regional and global-level scientific conferences: a high-level forum in collaboration with the International Confederation of Applied Mathematics and Mathematics in Industry (ICIAM) and the International Association for Computational Statistics of East Asia.
At the conference, members of the Executive Board presented their opinions and discussed activities to promote mathematics, raise awareness and support for teachers; and support for research groups and scientists of the Mathematics Program... In addition, delegates exchanged ideas and discussed suggestions to contribute to the development of mathematics.
Speaking at the conference, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Phuc acknowledged the efforts and contributions of mathematicians in implementing the National Key Program for the Development of Mathematics in the period 2021-2030. The regulations and guidelines for implementing the Program have been finalized and can begin to be systematically implemented according to the annual plan.
Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Phuc stated that in recent years, the role of mathematics has been enhanced thanks to the development of new technologies that utilize more powerful and diverse mathematical tools. Mathematics has a great opportunity for development. Therefore, mechanisms are needed to gather mathematical talents domestically and internationally to ensure optimal development; setting the goal for Vietnamese mathematics to be among the world's leading countries in the near future.
