The information that Vietnam was not invited to host the 2046 World Cup is incorrect.
In recent days, the media has widely shared information that Japan invited South Korea, China and four Southeast Asian countries including Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore to host the 2046 World Cup.
According to speculation, Vietnam will not be invited to host the World Cup because its infrastructure system does not meet FIFA standards to host the world 's biggest football festival. However, according to Thanh Nien Newspaper's research, the information that Japan invited many Southeast Asian countries except Vietnam to host the 2046 World Cup is not accurate.
Japan wants to form a coalition to host the 2046 World Cup, but this is just an idea

This is information quoted from the Japanese Sponichi Annex page. This page affirms: "The East Asian Football Federation (EAFF), the Japan Football Association (JFA) and the Southeast Asian Football Federation (AFF) are planning to co-host the 2046 World Cup. Japan and East Asian countries want to join hands with Southeast Asia, which has a developing economy . If successful, the World Cup will be held again in Japan for the first time in 44 years since the 2002 World Cup between Korea and Japan."
The site also quoted JFA President Tsuneyasu Miyamoto as saying that Japan and several countries have reached an agreement. However, this is just an idea that has been discussed verbally. There has been no official document, meeting or invitation from Japan to the four Southeast Asian countries of Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore about the parties joining hands to organize the 2046 World Cup.
"We did not formally exchange documents, although we reached a consensus that we could do it together," Mr. Miyamoto shared.
Also according to Japanese media: "Indonesia and Australia, two countries that have given up the goal of hosting the 2034 World Cup, expressed their desire to co-host the 2046 World Cup. South Korea, Japan, China, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore and Australia are also interested in hosting the world playground."

However, these are just initial speculations, with no official information yet confirmed. The Korean newspaper Sport Chosun shares the view that Japan, South Korea, China, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore and Australia could host the 2046 World Cup, but it is just an idea put forward by some parties.
FIFA's strict requirements
The 2046 World Cup is still 21 years away. There will be unpredictable changes in the years to come. The possibility of an alliance of 8 or 9 Asian countries hosting the World Cup is still just an idea. There is no sign that FIFA will agree to "split up" the world stage for too many host countries.
Japanese media said that the requirements for FIFA to host the World Cup are very strict: "There must be at least 14 stadiums with a capacity of over 40,000 seats. The semi-finals must have 60,000 seats and the final must have at least 80,000 seats. Currently, Japan does not have any stadiums with a capacity of over 80,000 seats. It is necessary to expand infrastructure and create public opinion as soon as possible."
The 2026 World Cup will be held in North America, with the US, Canada and Mexico co-hosting. The 2030 World Cup will be co-hosted by Portugal, Morocco and Spain. But the first three matches will be played in Uruguay, Argentina and Paraguay to celebrate the tournament's 100th anniversary. The 2034 World Cup will be held in Saudi Arabia.
According to the "continental rotation" principle, Asia will host the 2046 World Cup. However, up to now, there has been no official information about Asian countries/alliances officially campaigning for the right to host. All information is just assumptions!
