Ho Chi Minh City Tax Department promotes digitalization, increases efficiency in revenue exploitation and prevents revenue loss to achieve the 2025 budget revenue target of VND501,870 billion. That is the direction of the Tax Department's leaders at the conference to review tax work in the first 6 months of 2025 in Ho Chi Minh City and deploy tasks for the last 6 months of the year, taking place on the afternoon of July 18.

In the first half of 2025, Ho Chi Minh City Tax Department collected VND 294,138 billion in budget revenue, reaching more than 58.6% of the ordinance estimate, up 9.58% over the same period in 2024. Of which, revenue from crude oil decreased by 14.74% over the same period, while domestic revenue increased by 12.36%.

To achieve this result, the unit has improved the effectiveness of tax management for business households and individuals. At the same time, Ho Chi Minh City Tax Department has promoted activities to prevent budget loss, risk management of electronic invoices, tax management for e-commerce activities, and strengthened management and collection of tax debts...

In the last 6 months of the year, Ho Chi Minh City Tax Department focuses on 5 key tasks, with 10 solutions. These are promoting revenue exploitation, preventing tax losses, focusing on revenue from e-commerce, digital platform business, revenue from land, business households, high-income individuals; strengthening tax debt collection, debt enforcement in accordance with regulations, publicizing information on slow-paying taxpayers...

At the conference, Mr. Mai Xuan Thanh - Director of the Tax Department said that to achieve the target of increasing tax revenue by 20% according to the direction of the Prime Minister is a huge pressure. Therefore, Ho Chi Minh City needs to immediately review and assign tax collection targets to departments and tax agencies according to the new model for urgent deployment and implementation.

Ho Chi Minh City Tax continues to vigorously implement the key tasks of the industry, the work of preventing revenue loss, preventing tax and invoice fraud. In particular, strengthening inspections according to the topics that have been deployed by the Tax Department, especially in high-risk areas such as post-tax refund inspection, e-commerce, livestream sales, real estate, and luxury goods. Ho Chi Minh City Tax periodically evaluates the results of implementing the topics, proposing new and more effective implementation solutions to replicate and popularize throughout the industry.
