Side effects: Some side effects of the drug include drowsiness, fatigue and digestive disorders.
Note: Take the medicine after a full meal to limit side effects.
Vestibular disorders can be a cause of stroke.
1.2. Antiemetics
Effects: Antiemetics help reduce vomiting, headaches, dizziness, and vertigo in vestibular disorders. Some commonly used drugs are primperan, domperidone...
Side effects : When using Primperan, you may experience some side effects such as: Diarrhea, nausea, fatigue and unusual muscle weakness, drowsiness, acute muscle tone disorders especially in young female patients, restlessness; Domperidom can cause dry mouth, headache, rash, itchy skin, red eyes, irregular menstruation.
Note: Patients should not take this medicine without a prescription from a specialist because this medicine may interact with other medicines.
Acetylleucine can also be used to treat dizziness caused by vestibular disorders. Common side effects include skin rash (sometimes combined with itching), hives. Do not use acetylleucine in excess of the recommended dose, and do not use it in pregnant or lactating women.
Take medication for vestibular disorders only when prescribed by a doctor.

Effect: This group of drugs acts on the brain and nervous system, protecting against hypoxia in these organs. Commonly used are piracetam, ginkgo biloba...
In adults, piracetam is indicated for the treatment of vertigo and associated balance disorders, except for dizziness of vasomotor or psychogenic origin. Ginkgo biloba improves blood circulation by dilating blood vessels and reducing platelet adhesion, thus may aid in the treatment of vestibular disorders.
Side effects : Some common side effects include fatigue, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain...
Note: Do not use piracetam in cases of severe kidney failure, liver failure, or cerebral hemorrhage. Avoid using Ginkgo biloba for people with bleeding symptoms or pregnant women.
1.4. Calcium channel blockers
Effects: This group of drugs is effective in reducing symptoms of migraine, dizziness or cerebral circulatory insufficiency, often used as flunarizine...
Side effects: The drug has side effects that cause drowsiness, digestive disorders, risk of depression, affect the nervous system and increase symptoms in Parkinson's disease patients.
Note: This is a drug that requires a prescription and is indicated by a specialist. Patients should absolutely not use the drug on their own. The drug can increase extrapyramidal symptoms, depression, and Parkinson's syndrome.
Benzodiazepines should not be used long-term to treat vestibular disorders, as they can cause dependence. Therefore, these drugs must be closely monitored.
1.5. Benzodiazepine neuroleptic group
Effects: Benzodiazepine sedatives such as diazepam, lorazepam... are drugs that have sedative effects, balance the vestibular system on both sides, reduce symptoms of dizziness, anxiety, and stress.
Note: This medicine should not be used for a long time because it can cause the patient to become dependent on the medicine, addicted to the medicine. Therefore, these medicines must be strictly controlled.
2. Notes when using medicine
For effective treatment, people with vestibular disorders need to:
- Do not use medication without a doctor's prescription.
- Do not increase/decrease/stop taking medication without consulting your doctor.
- Some medications should be taken after meals to avoid stomach irritation.
- Do not take medicine with alcohol, beer and stimulants.
- Use with caution for: Pregnant women, breastfeeding women, children, when operating machinery, driving, cases of hypersensitivity to the ingredients of the drug.
- When using medication to treat vestibular disorders, if you experience any unusual symptoms, you should immediately notify your doctor for timely treatment.
- Have a reasonable diet, rest and exercise gently.
