Many units and businesses have planned and begun to announce the 2025 Tet bonus levels.
Ms. Hoang Minh Tuyet (40 years old, working at a media company in Hanoi ) said that although it is not yet December, her agency has started planning for Tet bonuses.
Ms. Tuyet shared that, like last year, this year the company plans to give Lunar New Year and New Year bonuses of 2 months' income.
“Although it has not been officially announced, given the business situation in the past year, it is likely that the bonus will not change. In the current difficult economic context, receiving a bonus of 2 months of income during Tet is also a happy thing for me,” said Ms. Tuyet.
Mr. Le Van Cuong, director of a garment export company in Hanoi, said that because orders are coming in regularly this year, the company will pay higher salaries and bonuses to employees. In addition to the 13th month salary and Lunar New Year bonus, the company will also give an additional half-month salary on the occasion of the New Year to encourage employees to work harder.
Besides businesses planning Tet bonuses, in some localities, Tet bonuses for employees have been announced.
In Dong Nai province, Changshin Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Vinh Cuu district) announced a Tet bonus of 1 month's salary for employees who have worked for a full year. Each employee who has worked for more than 1 year will receive a 5% increase, the highest level is 200% equivalent to 2 months' salary.
In Bac Giang, according to information from the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, this year, the highest Lunar New Year bonus in the province is expected to be VND146 million for foreign-invested enterprises (FDI); the Tet bonus of enterprises in the province is equal to or increases by 5-10% compared to last year.
Supervise the payment of salary and Tet bonus
To ensure the rights of workers, the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs requires localities to grasp the situation of wages and salary arrears in 2024, issue a plan for Tet bonuses in 2025, and report to the Ministry before December 15.
Mr. Phan Van Anh, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, said that the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor has requested grassroots trade unions to proactively work with employers to publicly announce plans for paying salaries and bonuses for Tet at least 30 days before Tet holiday.
In addition, it is necessary to supervise the implementation of salary payment, Tet bonus, working conditions, working time, rest time, overtime; ensure legitimate rights for union members, workers who work overtime, work extra hours, and work during Tet.
Timely detect and have solutions to ensure the rights of union members and employees in businesses facing difficulties, unpaid wages, unable to pay bonuses, business owners fleeing or dissolving or going bankrupt.
Along with that, it is necessary to strengthen dialogue and negotiation activities with employers on production plans, salary payment, and Tet bonus payment.
Trade unions at all levels strengthen dialogue and negotiation activities with employers on production plans, salary payment, Tet bonus payment; take care of the material and spiritual life of workers during Tet.
