Pursuant to Decision No. 839 dated April 26, 2025 of the Prime Minister, Lieutenant General Nguyen Hong Thai, member of the Party Central Committee, member of the Central Military Commission, Commander of Military Region 1, was appointed to the position of Deputy Minister of National Defense . Previously, the Prime Minister appointed Major General Truong Manh Dung, Commander of the 12th Corps, to the position of Commander of Military Region 1.

Visiting and working with Bac Giang province, Major General Truong Manh Dung sent his regards to the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and the provincial armed forces. Emphasizing that Bac Giang is a locality with an important position in the Military Region 1, he hoped that in the coming time, he would continue to receive the attention and regular coordination of the Standing Committee of the Bac Giang Provincial Party Committee in carrying out political tasks and local defense and military work.

Speaking at the meeting, comrade Nguyen Van Gau thanked the High Command and the Commander of Military Region 1 for their attention. Informing about the results of the province's socio-economic, security and defense tasks, the Provincial Party Secretary said: In 2024 and the first months of 2025, Bac Giang province continues to maintain strong development momentum. Many indicators such as: Economic growth rate, investment attraction, budget revenue, industrial production value, export turnover... are high, including leading indicators and among the leading groups in the country.

The cultural and social fields have changed positively, gratitude activities and preferential policies for people with meritorious services have been maintained and implemented well. The emulation movement "Eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses" continues to be strongly implemented in many agencies, units and localities. National defense and security work has been strengthened; political security and social order and safety are generally stable.

He affirmed that the achievements of the province include important contributions from the armed forces of Military Region 1 and the provincial armed forces. Bac Giang province highly appreciates and continues to closely coordinate with Military Region 1 in implementing security, defense and other political and social tasks.

Inheriting and promoting the achievements of the Military Region's armed forces, the Provincial Party Secretary hopes that the Military Region 1 Command will continue to pay attention to leading, directing, and coordinating with localities to build a national defense foundation, build a national defense posture, associated with a solid people's security posture and a strong people's heart posture.
