Actively and proactively build the unit

Our first impression when arriving at the Regional Defense Command (PTKV) 1-Thoi Lai (Can Tho City Military Command) was the regular, green, clean, beautiful barracks, with unified signs; the guard force followed regulations; the working, eating and resting places of officers and soldiers were neatly arranged and clean.

Lieutenant Colonel Pham Hong Quan, Deputy Commander, Chief of Staff of the PTKV 1-Thoi Lai Command, said: “Immediately after the decision to establish, we urgently built, completed plans, documents and practiced combat plans, fire prevention and fighting, closely coordinated with forces to promptly handle situations, not to be passive or surprised. Typically, in response to storms No. 2 and No. 3 recently, we mobilized nearly 100 officers and soldiers to coordinate with localities to help people overcome the consequences of natural disasters.”

Up to now, the unit has stabilized its organization and staffing and has just successfully organized the 1st Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term. Officers and soldiers of the entire unit actively responded to emulation movements to welcome party congresses at all levels, celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Can Tho City Armed Forces and the emulation movement "Raise the August Red Flag - Emulate to win 3 firsts"... In addition, the unit assigned officers to supervise, monitor and help 32 commune-level military cells organize congresses according to plan; guide the Thoi Lai Commune Military Command and the Ninh Kieu Ward Military Command to be a model for regular construction. Coordinate with the Party committees, authorities of communes, wards and forces to build coordination regulations, contributing to maintaining political security, order and social safety in the area.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Le Vu Phuong, Commander of the PTKV 1-Thoi Lai Command, the unit is continuing to advise leaders at all levels to build and consolidate a number of construction items, expand barracks; coordinate and guide localities in selecting and calling citizens to join the army, building militia and self-defense forces, and mobilization reserves... With a high sense of responsibility, the Party Committee and the PTKV 1-Thoi Lai Command have led and directed the unit to complete a large amount of work. There are still many important and difficult tasks to be solved in the immediate future, but with a spirit of solidarity and high determination, officers and soldiers of the PTKV 1-Thoi Lai Command will strive to complete the assigned tasks well.
