During the meeting, Rear Admiral Vu Van Nam briefed the delegation on the traditions of the Navy, the 50-year history of building, fighting, and developing the 1st Naval Region; the key tasks of officers and soldiers of the 1st Naval Region in training, combat readiness, and preventing the illegal activities of foreign ships and oil rigs encroaching on the assigned sea area; the task of protecting exploration and survey vessels and economic activities; protecting fishermen working at sea; and carrying out search and rescue missions.

On behalf of the Diplomatic Academy delegation, Dr. Nguyen Hung Son expressed gratitude for the thoughtful and respectful reception extended by the Command of Naval Region 1. Through the survey combined with a seminar and exchange of practical ideas, the delegation gained a basic understanding of the characteristics, situation, construction process, combat, development, and key political tasks of the Region in the new context.

The delegation presented research books and took commemorative photos with the delegates.

Based on the findings from the field survey in Naval Region 1, the working group members will filter, supplement, and update new and practical issues as a basis for effectively applying them to the process of building a national science and technology program through the state-level project "Scientific and technological research serving the sustainable development of the marine economy".
