According to the Labor Code, in a year, employees are entitled to a total of 11 paid holidays, including: New Year's Day (1 day off), Lunar New Year (5 days off), Hung Kings' Commemoration Day (1 day off), April 30 Victory Day (1 day off), International Labor Day (1 day off), and September 2 National Day (2 days off). Thus, the National Day holiday is the last holiday of the year.

During the National Day holiday on September 2 this year, civil servants and public employees will have a day off from Saturday, August 30, 2025 to Tuesday, September 2, 2025. This holiday includes 2 National Day holidays and 2 weekly days off.

This is the content of Notice No. 6150/TB-BLDTBXH of the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs (now the Ministry of Home Affairs ) on Lunar New Year holidays, National Day holidays, Victory Day holidays April 30 and International Labor Day May 1, 2025 for cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers.

Accordingly, agencies and units implementing the above-mentioned holiday schedule must pay attention to arranging and organizing on-duty departments according to regulations and work reasonably to handle continuous work, ensuring good service to the organization and the people. In particular, units and agencies must pay attention to assigning officers and civil servants on duty to handle sudden and unexpected work that may occur during Tet and holidays according to regulations.

Agencies and units that do not have a fixed weekly Saturday and Sunday off schedule should arrange a suitable holiday schedule based on the unit's specific program and plan, in accordance with the provisions of law.

For employees who are not cadres, civil servants, public employees and employees of administrative agencies, public service agencies, political organizations, socio-political organizations, employers can choose the National Day holiday option including Tuesday, September 2 and one of two days: Monday (September 1) or Wednesday (September 3) depending on actual production.

The Ministry of Home Affairs encourages employers to apply leave time for employees as prescribed for civil servants and public employees.

Agencies, units and localities must have specific and appropriate plans and measures to encourage units, enterprises, organizations and individuals to actively and proactively implement production, business, economic and social activities, ensuring stable supply and demand of goods, services, prices and markets, contributing to promoting production, business, economic growth, practicing thrift, fighting waste, striving to successfully implement the goals and tasks of the 2025 plan, the year of acceleration and breakthrough in implementing the 5-year plan 2021 - 2025, creating a solid foundation and premise for rapid and sustainable development in the coming time.
