Reading the eulogy at the funeral of Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh, Senior Lieutenant General Phan Van Giang, Minister of National Defense, stated: The passing of Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh is a great loss, leaving behind infinite sorrow for the Party, State and people; for all officers and soldiers of the Vietnam People's Army and his family.
Through the process of studying, training, fighting and contributing to the country, the army and performing noble international duties, he has continuously matured, from a private soldier to a Senior Lieutenant General, Deputy Minister of National Defense. In all conditions and circumstances, regardless of his position, he always upholds the noble qualities of Uncle Ho's soldiers, with a calm, receptive, steadfast demeanor, upholding principles, always clearly demonstrating his mettle, intelligence, will and determination to rise up, ready to receive and excellently complete all assigned tasks.
In the cause of building and defending the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, in the positions of: Department-level cadre to Deputy Director, Director, Deputy Director General, Director General of General Department II, he has made many important and profound contributions to the development of the tasks of the Vietnam defense intelligence sector. In the family, he was a husband, father, and grandfather who lived simply, exemplary, full of sacrifice and compassion.
With 67 years of age, more than 40 years of Party membership, and having held many positions, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh has made many important contributions to the revolutionary cause of the Party, State, Army and people; always putting collective interests above personal interests, being a shining example for officers and soldiers of the entire army to learn from and follow.

At the moment of sending Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh to his final resting place, General Phan Van Giang respectfully sent his deepest condolences to the entire family of Comrade Nguyen Chi Vinh for the irreparable pain and loss.
After the funeral, leaders and former leaders of the Party, State, Central Military Commission - Ministry of National Defense and family of Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh emotionally walked around the coffin for the last time.
After the memorial service, the funeral took place at 1:05 p.m. The burial ceremony for Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh was held at 5:15 p.m. the same day at Thien Duc Park (Bao Thanh Commune, Phu Ninh District, Phu Tho Province).

Senior Lieutenant General, Professor, Doctor Nguyen Chi Vinh was born on May 15, 1957, in Quang Tho Commune, Quang Dien District, Thua Thien Hue Province. He was born and raised in a family and hometown with a rich revolutionary tradition; his father was General Nguyen Chi Thanh, the first Chief of the General Political Department of the Vietnam People's Army, who devoted his whole life to the cause of national liberation and reunification.
Comrade Nguyen Chi Vinh has held the positions of Deputy Director General, Director General of General Department II, Ministry of National Defense; Deputy Minister of National Defense. He is a member of the Party Central Committee, terms XI and XII.
