The 2024 mid-term population and housing census (2024 mid-term population and housing census) is conducted with the main purpose of collecting information on population and housing as a basis for assessing the implementation of the 2021-2025 socio -economic development plan; developing policies and planning for population and housing to serve the development of the 2026-2030 socio-economic development plan; monitoring the implementation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals to which the Government of Vietnam has committed and serving the population statistics work nationwide and in each locality.
The subjects of the 2024 DSGK Survey include: Households (including information on household housing); Actual permanent population of households (including those in the armed forces, foreign nationals currently eating and sleeping at the household), excluding those living in areas under the exclusive management of the military and police.
The survey unit of the 2024 DSGK is the household. A household consists of one person living and eating separately or a group of people living and eating together. For households with 2 or more people, the members of the household may or may not be related by blood, marriage, or adoption; and may or may not have a common income and expenditure fund.
The 2024 DSGK survey is conducted nationwide in 63 provinces and centrally-run cities (provinces, cities), in all districts, towns, and provincial cities (counties), except for 4 small island districts.
The 2024 DSGK survey collects information on the following main contents: Demographic information of household members; Information on migration; Information oneducation ; Information on marriage; Information on birth history of women aged 10 - 49; Information on deaths of the household; Information on housing and living conditions of the household.
Regarding the survey form, the 2024 DSGK survey uses 3 types of forms to collect information for the preparation of household lists and to collect information for the synthesis of indicators, specifically as follows: Form 01/DSGK-BK: Collects information for the preparation of household lists; Form 02/DSGK-PN: Collects demographic information, migration of people, information on the deceased and housing of the household; Form 03/DSGK-PD: In addition to the information as Form 02/DSGK-PN, collects additional information on the marital status and education of household members; birth history of women aged 10-49, more detailed information on housing and living conditions of the household.
The 2024 DSGK survey is a sample survey, applying the direct interview method. The enumerator (Enumerator) visits each household to ask information providers and fully records the answers on an electronic survey form designed on mobile devices (CAPI)./.
