This decision was made after complicated developments related to the Kera vegetable candy case, when Thuy Tien was criminally prosecuted for the crime of deceiving customers.

In a recent announcement, Sen Vang Company confirmed that the contract termination was carried out "in accordance with the agreed terms and in accordance with legal regulations". This is described as "a mandatory legal procedure, arising from current circumstances".

In particular, the management company clarified its role in the incident by affirming: "All business cooperation activities, profit sharing and equity investment of Ms. Nguyen Thuc Thuy Tien with outside individuals and organizations are decided by Ms. Nguyen Thuc Thuy Tien herself, carried out in her personal capacity and Sen Vang Company does not participate, does not represent, and does not have any economic benefits."

Despite terminating the contract, Sen Vang still recognizes Thuy Tien's contributions to cultural and social activities since being crowned Miss Grand International 2021.

The company affirmed that it always "upholds the principle of the rule of law, respects insiders and accompanies the public with transparency". The termination of the contract was emphasized "does not reflect the personal views or deny the personal values of Ms. Nguyen Thuc Thuy Tien in the past".

Thuy Tien has been one of the most beloved beauty queens in Vietnam since being crowned Miss Grand International 2021. With her friendly image, active volunteer work and sense of social responsibility, she is affectionately called "national beauty queen" by the audience.

However, since February 2025, Thuy Tien's reputation has been in crisis since the Kera vegetable candy scandal broke out. Independent testing results showed that the fiber content in the product was only 0.935%, causing a wave of outrage on social networks. Initially, she was thought to be simply promoting this product.

Thuy Tien initially kept silent and deleted related posts, then had to publicly apologize twice on March 6 and March 15, 2025.

The investigation agency later determined Thuy Tien's real role in the case. She was not only the promoter of Kera vegetable candy but also a founding shareholder of Chi Em Rot Group Joint Stock Company, contributing 30% of the capital and enjoying the corresponding profits.

According to the investigation results, Thuy Tien earned nearly 7 billion VND from the total revenue of 18 billion VND from more than 135,000 boxes of candy sold. Particularly serious, the investigation agency determined that she knew clearly about the low fiber content in Kera candy but still, together with her colleagues, provided false information to exaggerate the product's uses.

In her testimony, Thuy Tien admitted that after her first livestream in December 2024, she proactively asked to join the company's management because she saw that the product "had many good ideas". When the controversy broke out in late February 2025, she proposed to sign an advertising contract to legalize and conceal her role as a shareholder.

On April 3, 2025, she was fined VND 25 million by the National Competition Commission for not clearly declaring that she was sponsored when advertising. After that, Dak Lak Provincial Police decided to temporarily suspend Thuy Tien's exit from the country from March 15 to May 15 to serve the investigation. On May 19, 2025, she was officially prosecuted and temporarily detained for the crime of Deceiving Customers under Article 198 of the Penal Code.

Temporarily not stripping Thuy Tien of her title

CEO of Miss Grand International Organization Nawat and Thuy Tien.

Responding to the case of Thuy Tien being prosecuted, CEO of Miss Grand International Nawat Organization recently confirmed that he had followed up and verified the information with the management company, affirming that Thuy Tien was indeed arrested due to accusations of selling products that were not as advertised.

Regarding the impact on the Miss Grand International organization, CEO Nawat affirmed that the incident did not affect MGI because Thuy Tien's contract had expired a long time ago. He emphasized that this was a personal matter and if the incident had happened while she was still under contract, he would certainly have been implicated. The current responsibility lies with Thuy Tien's management company.

Regarding the Miss Grand International 2021 title, Mr. Nawat said that he will not temporarily strip Thuy Tien of the title because the error did not occur during her time with the organization. However, he will reconsider if the court issues a verdict in the future. Currently, MGI does not use her image and has no business contact with her.
