CEO Phuc Khang Corporation: Pioneer in connecting Japanese enterprises to promote green buildings in Vietnam

To contribute to the implementation of the Vietnamese Government 's commitment at COP26, it is necessary for Vietnamese entrepreneurs to have a pioneering spirit, learn from experience, and cooperate with foreign enterprises to develop green buildings.

CEO Luu Thi Thanh Mau, General Director of Phuc Khang Corporation (PKC) is one of the few businesswomen who dare to think, dare to do, and proactively connect with Japanese enterprises to promote the development of green buildings in Vietnam.

Pioneering in connecting Japanese businesses to promote green buildings in Vietnam

Green growth as well as green products are a new approach in economic development of countries around the world, including Vietnam. This trend is the premise of sustainable development, not only bringing economic benefits, but also aiming to restore and preserve natural ecosystems. In which, green building products become typical and essential in promoting the green economy and circular economy .

Phuc Khang Corporation is known as a pioneering green building developer. Among the green building products that PKC has dedicatedly implemented is the Diamond Lotus Riverside luxury apartment complex (No. 49C Le Quang Kim, Ward 8, District 8, Ho Chi Minh City), invested in construction and registered according to the LEED standards of the US Green Building Council (USGBC) and LOTUS of the Vietnam Green Building Council (VGBC). The project is rated as: "Top 5 best smart green building projects in 2021", "Top 10 best luxury apartment projects in 2022", "Worth living project in 2022", achieving LOTUS Provisional certification - on track to reach Gold level in the full certification stage...

This strategic vision of the pioneering green building developer PKC comes from CEO Luu Thi Thanh Mau - the co-founder of the business. The businesswoman has early access to the greening trend in global production and consumption. Since more than 10 years ago, CEO Luu Thi Thanh Mau has contemplated the role of green buildings as well as grasped the green growth trend.

“Sustainable development means transferring social responsibility to future generations without losing the benefits of the next generation. The problem of sustainable development with the foundation of green buildings will make that happen,” CEO Luu Thi Thanh Mau once emphasized.

According to the “female captain” of PKC, energy-balanced construction products are also a responsible contribution of enterprises to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, joining hands with the national action goals and global trends. Therefore, since 2015, Ms. Luu Thi Thanh Mau has made many trade promotion trips with foreign partners, especially major partners in Japan, to learn from experience in developing energy-balanced green construction.

CEO Luu Thi Thanh Mau visited, met and discussed with Japanese corporations with the aim of promoting cooperation to develop green buildings and green urban areas.

In 2017, Phuc Khang Corporation had a "million-dollar handshake" with Mitsubishi - a Japanese multinational corporation, to establish the joint venture Phuc Khang Mitsubishi Corporation Holding (PKMC).

At that time, the two groups agreed to decide that Mitsubishi Corporation (holding 49% of capital) and Phuc Khang Corporation (holding 51% of capital) would establish Phuc Khang Mitsubishi Corporation Holding (PKMC) to invest in and develop the Diamond Lotus product line, the first high-rise apartment project in Vietnam built, managed and operated according to LEED standards - a prestigious and popular green building standard in 150 countries around the world. And, Diamond Lotus Riverside is a typical product symbolizing the cooperative relationship with Japanese enterprises. This is also a solid proof of the efforts to promote by businesswoman Luu Thi Thanh Mau.

Continue to connect trade - expand cooperation with Japanese enterprises

In mid-March, in her role as Vice President of the Vietnam Young Entrepreneurs Association for the 2022-2025 term, CEO Luu Thi Thanh Mau continued her business trip to promote cooperation in Japan.

Specifically, the female CEO of Phuc Khang Corporation accompanied the delegation of the Vietnam Young Entrepreneurs Association to visit and sign a memorandum of understanding with the Japan Young Entrepreneurs Association. During the working trip, the female CEO also attended the activities of the 43rd National Conference organized by the Japan Young Entrepreneurs Association. This event aims to promote cooperation and connection between young Japanese entrepreneurs and young entrepreneurs of ASEAN member countries in exchanging experiences and promoting trade, for the common development of young Japanese entrepreneurs and young entrepreneurs in the ASEAN region.

This joint business trip of Green CEO Luu Thi Thanh Mau continues to affirm the businesswoman’s desire to “reach out” internationally in the field of green buildings. This could be the beginning of “new handshakes” that contribute to increasing business benefits and elevating the position of Vietnamese brands in the near future.

According to the female “green CEO”, Japan is not only one of the world’s largest economies but also famous for its advanced technology and high-quality management. Through cooperation, Vietnamese entrepreneurs can access investment capital, new technology as well as the ability to expand the market more widely.

At the same time, this also contributes to promoting the development of domestic industries, creating a diverse and healthy competitive business environment. And, cooperation with Japan also helps improve management skills and supply chains, thereby promoting innovation and creativity in business.

Maintaining friendly relations with strategic partners with extensive experience in developing green buildings and energy-balanced buildings, seizing opportunities to learn, trade and meet from Vietnam-Japan trade promotion trips... are the efforts that CEO Luu Thi Thanh Mau has made with the goal of promoting green building development towards a sustainable future.

Believing that with the aspiration to create genuine green buildings and green urban areas of international standards in Vietnam, along with the efforts and "fateful relationship" with Japanese partners, the female leader of PKC will mark many more successes, contributing to enhancing the reputation and position of Vietnamese businessmen in the region and internationally.
