U23 Vietnam showed resilience, overcame pressure from Indonesian audiences and performed a confident, tight style of play, bringing home a well-deserved championship at Gelora Bung Karno Stadium.
As soon as the final whistle blew, VFF President Tran Quoc Tuan quickly went down to the field to join officials from the host country and the Southeast Asian Football Federation (AFF) in presenting awards to outstanding individuals and teams.
After that, the VFF President also congratulated the whole team and announced a bonus of 1 billion VND . This amount of money is a worthy recognition for the impressive series of 4 consecutive wins, especially defeating U23 Indonesia right at home to win the championship. U23 Vietnam also set a record of 3 consecutive championships in the region's highest-level youth tournament.
Previously, U23 Vietnam received 500 million VND when they passed the group stage. In the semi-finals, the dramatic 2-1 victory over U23 Philippines helped coach Kim Sang-sik and his team receive an additional 500 million VND. In total, U23 Vietnam received a bonus of up to 2 billion VND from VFF at this year's tournament.
These bonuses are not only financial incentives but also recognition of the solidarity, fighting spirit and talent of the young players.
