Towards the 79th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2, especially on the occasion of the 55th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's passing, 55 years of implementing his Testament, 55 years of preserving and promoting the value of the President Ho Chi Minh Relic Site at the Presidential Palace, on the afternoon of August 15, General Secretary andPresident To Lam had a cordial meeting with comrades who directly served Uncle Ho during the 15 years he lived and worked at the Presidential Palace, from 1954 to 1969.

This special meeting aims to recognize and honor the merits and contributions of generations of cadres who served President Ho Chi Minh in the Presidential Palace and to recall good memories of him.

At the meeting, the delegates were moved to recall unforgettable memories during their duties, especially the last days with Uncle Ho. In their stories, the comrades always expressed their honor, pride, affection and special respect for Uncle Ho, the beloved leader of the Vietnamese people.

In the stories of close comrades who directly served and protected Uncle Ho, simplicity, sincerity, and devotion to the country and the people were all evident. They all always remembered Uncle Ho's advice that "individualism is the cause and companion of the disease of corruption, decadence, waste, extravagance, greed for fame, profiteering... harming the interests of the revolution and the people, reducing the reputation and prestige of the ruling Party" in the article "Promoting revolutionary morality, wiping out individualism" by Uncle Ho on the occasion of the 39th anniversary of the Party's founding (February 3, 1969). Uncle Ho did not forget to remind everyone how to be a human being; to enhance dignity - a precious root to ensure that the journey in each person's life reaches a glorious destination.

Speaking at the meeting, General Secretary and President To Lam expressed his joy at meeting historical witnesses who had the honor of serving Uncle Ho during his time living and working at the Presidential Palace from 1954 until his last moments on September 2, 1969. Many generations of cadres of the Relic Site have made efforts and determination to preserve, maintain and promote his legacy at the Presidential Palace in the past time.

The General Secretary and President emphasized that the Vietnamese people are always happy and proud to have Uncle Ho, the great leader - National Liberation Hero, Outstanding Cultural Man, World Cultural Celebrity, a shining example of revolutionary morality, simple and modest style, and passionate patriotism and love for the people.

In particular, the comrades present at this meeting were more honored and proud than anyone else because they were close to Uncle Ho, the bodyguards who protected him day and night, the people who helped him closely and took care of him, the nurses and doctors who wholeheartedly took care of his health when he was seriously ill, not only with medical ethics but also with the infinite love and gratitude of a child towards his Father.

General Secretary and President To Lam expressed deep emotion when hearing the memories of Uncle Ho retold; affirming that the stories told by witnesses all expressed respect for the great career and immense compassion of beloved Uncle Ho.

At the same time, General Secretary and President To Lam emphasized that the memories of the years living close to Uncle Ho, protecting and serving him are a great source of encouragement for you, uncles and aunts. Those emotional moments will certainly remain forever in each person's life and will always have the power to spread and touch every heart forever.

The General Secretary and President pointed out that the Presidential Palace Relic Site is where Uncle Ho lived and worked for 15 years, from 1954 to 1969 - the longest period of time he "stopped" in his revolutionary career and also the place where the great communist's heart stopped beating to return to his ancestors, to "Karl Marx, Lenin and other revolutionary seniors."

Immediately after Uncle Ho passed away, a complex of historical relics with special value and significance about him was formed in the Presidential Palace area. The cadres of Uncle Ho's agency and later the Uncle Ho Relic Site at the Presidential Palace strived every day to both work and study to preserve and maintain "Uncle Ho's House" with sacred feelings and profound educational significance in many aspects so that people and friends from all over the world, when visiting and studying, would still see his image somewhere.

Recalling the special emotions each time he offered incense to commemorate Uncle Ho at the Presidential Palace Relic Site, General Secretary and President To Lam emphasized that continuing the tradition of "When drinking water, remember its source" and "When eating fruit, remember the person who planted the tree," our Party and State always respect and are grateful for the contributions of the cadres who directly served, cared for, and protected Uncle Ho during his lifetime and preserved, maintained, and best promoted his legacy at the Presidential Palace.

The General Secretary and President affirmed that 55 years after Uncle Ho passed away, the legacy he left to our nation and our Party is a treasure trove of precious ideological heritage and priceless spiritual heritage in all fields. Today, we continue to research, study and constantly innovate, following his Testament, continuing to affirm the steadfast belief of our entire Party, army and people in preserving and promoting the legacy of President Ho Chi Minh, as well as preserving and promoting the value of his relic site at the Presidential Palace.
