Representatives of ministries, branches and agencies presented a summary of the contents of the 9 laws, clearly stating the new points of the laws to suit the reality and development requirements of the country.
The laws promulgated include: Law on Digital Technology Industry; Law on amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Technical Standards and Regulations; Law on amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Product and Goods Quality; Law on Atomic Energy; Law on Science, Technology and Innovation; Law on amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Credit Institutions; Law on Personal Data Protection; Law on Participation in the United Nations Peacekeeping Force; and Law on Railways.
Introducing the Law on Participation in United Nations Peacekeeping Forces, which will take effect from January 1, 2026, Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien, Deputy Minister of National Defense, said that this is a complete, solid, long-term, and stable legal corridor for the deployment of forces to participate in United Nations peacekeeping operations; contributing to enhancing Vietnam's position and prestige in the international arena.
Introducing the Law on Personal Data Protection, which will take effect from January 1, 2026, Senior Lieutenant General Le Quoc Hung, Deputy Minister of Public Security, emphasized decentralization in state management; responsibilities of parties controlling and processing personal data, third parties, and personal data protection forces. The law clearly stipulates prohibited acts in the management and use of personal data.
Introducing the Law on Digital Technology Industry, which will take effect from July 1, 2025, the representative of the Ministry of Science and Technology emphasized the need to define the legal status of digital assets and digital asset management, including virtual assets and encrypted assets, ensuring ownership, transactions and security. The law also prioritizes investment in essential digital infrastructure such as artificial intelligence data centers, concentrated digital technology parks, and national laboratories.
Introducing the Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Credit Institutions, which will take effect from October 15, 2025, a representative of the State Bank said that, with the provisions of this law, the person holding the collateral of a bad debt is obliged to hand over the property to a credit institution, foreign bank branch, debt trading and settlement organization for settlement according to the agreement...
