On the afternoon of December 18th, the Provincial National Assembly Delegation held a conference to summarize the achievements of 2023 and plan for 2024. Comrade Duong Van An - Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation - chaired the conference.
According to the report of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, in 2023, the Provincial National Assembly Delegation made many innovations in implementing its activities and achieved many positive results. In the legislative process, National Assembly deputies actively participated in contributing opinions to draft laws at National Assembly sessions and legislative consultation meetings of National Assembly committees; contributing opinions to the National Assembly when deciding on important national issues; and exercising supreme oversight of the National Assembly.
In addition, the delegation paid attention to and directed the timely handling of citizens' complaints and denunciations; urging relevant agencies to resolve issues for citizens in accordance with regulations. The work of engaging with constituents was reformed in form and improved in quality, with closer and more frequent coordination with various sectors and levels. In 2023, the Provincial National Assembly Delegation organized meetings between 7/7 National Assembly deputies and constituents before and after the 5th and 6th sessions of the 15th National Assembly; coordinating with the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province and relevant agencies and units to organize meetings with constituents in all 10 districts, towns, and cities in the province. After the 6th session, the Provincial National Assembly Delegation reformed its constituent engagement by showing video clips about the session's results and the delegation's activities, allowing constituents to follow the situation in a vivid and engaging way.
Information and communication work is given priority by the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, aiming to promptly convey the activities of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation to voters and the people; and to promptly inform voters about the results of the resolution of relevant requests by functional agencies. Social welfare work is given attention by the leaders of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation and the National Assembly Deputies in the Delegation...
At the conference, the National Assembly deputies in the delegation highly agreed with the 2023 assessment reports, and also offered suggestions to further improve the effectiveness of the delegation's activities.
Concluding the conference, the Provincial Party Secretary and Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, Duong Van An, requested that the Provincial National Assembly Delegation strive for further innovation in its activities. He emphasized the need to gradually implement digital transformation while strengthening two-way information exchange to convey information to voters and from voters to ministries and agencies; and to participate in providing feedback during National Assembly sessions. He also stressed the importance of increasing information exchange and sharing between National Assembly deputies from the province working at the central level and those working at the local level. This will provide additional information and resources to effectively participate in the activities of each National Assembly deputy, from meeting with voters to contributing to the study and feedback on draft laws during group discussions and plenary sessions, and participating in the decision-making process on important National Assembly issues.
The Provincial Party Secretary and Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation also requested the National Assembly Delegation to define its responsibilities when participating in resolving petitions from the people and voters. Besides forwarding them to the competent authorities for consideration and response, it is necessary to promptly monitor the progress of resolving petitions to inform voters of the responses from the relevant agencies; for any issues that are still unsatisfactory, further recommendations should be submitted to the competent authorities for thorough, reasonable, and effective resolution...
