In his speech commemorating the 80th anniversary of the Government's founding, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh recalled the event on August 28, 1945, when the Provisional Government of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam issued a proclamation to the people and the world about the establishment of a new Government and announced the list of the 15-member National Unification Cabinet, chaired by President Ho Chi Minh - marking the birth of the first Revolutionary Government in the thousands of years of our nation's history of building and defending the country.

The speech looked back at the 80-year history of the Government through the difficult, challenging but also glorious, honorable and proud stages of the Vietnamese revolution.

From the Provisional Government of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam in 1945 to the Government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam today, the Vietnamese Government has been united, unified, "unanimous from top to bottom, consistent throughout", always making every effort, striving tirelessly, all for the goal of "National Independence associated with socialism" and a prosperous and happy life for the people, contributing to achieving great victories, creating turning points that "change the situation, transform the state", achieving outstanding achievements, making our country "never before had the foundation, potential, position and international prestige like today".

Those outstanding achievements are reflected in focusing on building a new Vietnam, a new Government and protecting the achievements of the August Revolution; shouldering the historical mission of contributing to the successful implementation of the resistance war against the invading French colonialists; making an important contribution to the successful implementation of the resistance war against the invading American imperialists and their lackeys, completely liberating the South, unifying the country; focusing on building a socialist State, organizing the reconstruction of the country after the war... to successfully implementing the policy and guidelines of innovation, openness and international integration, our country has achieved great achievements of historical significance...

The Prime Minister emphasized that entering a new development stage, the world, regional and domestic situation has opportunities, advantages and difficulties, and challenges intertwined, but the difficulties and challenges are greater.

Under the leadership of the Party, with the spirit of "The Government is the servant of the people", "...putting the people's interests above all; doing everything that is beneficial to the people must be done; doing everything that is harmful to the people must be avoided", the Government is grateful and will continue to promote the good and glorious traditions of the Government through the ages to overcome all difficulties and challenges.

The Government will constantly innovate its thinking, act decisively, courageously, confidently, self-reliantly, and work with the whole country to strive to successfully implement the two 100-year strategic goals set forth in the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress.

The Prime Minister affirmed that the Government will focus on directing all levels, sectors and localities to strive to complete the main goals and targets of 2025, strive to achieve a GDP growth rate of over 8%, create momentum, create force, create position, and create a solid foundation for double-digit growth in the 2026-2030 period and the following years...
