Hackers claim to have access to Sapo data in real time

Posing as people who want to buy customer data from the Sapo platform, a group of reporters from the Knowledge and Life newspaper connected and approached a group of hackers who were selling this data on the Telegram platform.

In response to Sapo's assertion that customer information is secure, the hacker group asserted the opposite. They said they have the ability to access data from the Sapo platform in real time and can provide customer information on a daily basis.

Once they were given access to new customer data, hackers demonstrated they could access it in real time.

Of course, the value of this information will be more expensive than information purchased in bulk. The hacker group even took screenshots of the system they were "scraping" data in real time from Sapo - as a way to prove their ability to access information - to increase the authenticity to convince customers to "pay".

Before the information that Mr. Hoang Hanh Phuc, Director of the Infrastructure and Security Center (Sapo) answered the press on September 13 and said that all data and customer information of Sapo is still being kept safe, the hackers proved the opposite, when they provided evidence that they could access customer information on September 18 - right at the time the group of reporters from the newspaper Tri Thuc Va Cuoc Song approached these subjects.

When asked about Sapo user information updated in real time, the subject confirmed that they provided daily order information to customers in need. The hacker group even said that they had sold a daily customer information package to a previous buyer - which means that all of Sapo's daily orders - have been and are being sold to groups of subjects for bad purposes.

The subject also "honestly" said that he had previously sold Sapo's daily data to another buyer.

What can the subjects who buy customer information from Sapo do?

According to the investigation of the reporter of the Knowledge and Life newspaper , the subjects buy customer information from Sapo to use for many different purposes. One of them is the purpose of selling. When having customer information, these subjects can "narrow down" the shopping preferences and usage needs of customers to launch advertising text message campaigns, launch discount codes to the right target, creating leverage for sales.

However, there are also subjects who use customer information for bad purposes. For example, Sapo's customer information is sold every day, from which bad subjects can get the buyer's information right after placing an order, then use tricks through scam calls to lure the buyer to pay for the goods, thereby appropriating the buyer's money.
