Ly Hai and Tran Thanh's films account for nearly half of theater revenue since the beginning of the year.

Since the beginning of the year, theater systems in Vietnam have released nearly 90 large and small films. However, shocking statistics from Box Office Vietnam reveal that only two films by Ly Hai and Tran Thanh have accounted for more than 40% of revenue at Vietnamese theaters.

Specifically, statistics from Box Office Vietnam - an independent box office observer, said that from the beginning of the year to May 8, total box office revenue in Vietnam reached 2,000 billion VND, of which Mai and Lat mat 7 earned a total of 840 billion, accounting for 41% of the big screen market.

This is both a good and a worrying sign for Vietnamese cinema. Indeed, the total revenue of the film industry is 380 billion VND higher than the same period last year, but almost all Vietnamese films released since the beginning of the year, if not by Ly Hai or Tran Thanh, are likely to suffer a "loss of capital".

Currently, Lat mat 7: Mot giau uoc is still dominating theater systems, with the goal of surpassing the 400 billion revenue mark from now until the end of May, with few competitors strong enough to compete.

Previously, Tran Thanh's Mai reached a historic revenue milestone of 520 billion VND during Tet before leaving theaters in March. This will be a milestone that perhaps it will be a long time before any name in Vietnamese theaters is able to surpass.
