The conference reviewed and gave opinions on the Project on rearranging administrative units and organizing the apparatus of the commune-level political system in Binh Duong province.
Overview of the meeting
Binh Duong currently has 9 districts and cities with 91 commune-level administrative units. Implementing the conclusions and instructions of the Central Government, the province has actively coordinated to review, advise, and develop plans to merge commune-level administrative units.
Implementing Conclusion 137-KL/TW, dated March 28, 2025 of the Politburo , Binh Duong develops a plan to reduce the total number of commune-level administrative units after the rearrangement by about 50%, ensuring reasonable correlation, avoiding creating large gaps in natural area and population size between new communes and wards after the rearrangement; promoting potentials and advantages, expanding development space, ensuring that grassroots authorities are close to the people, close to the people and serve the people best.
Ms. Huynh Thi Thanh Phuong - Director of the Department of Home Affairs, Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Board presented the Project on arranging administrative units and organizing the apparatus of the commune-level political system in Binh Duong province.

Speaking at the meeting, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Van Loi - Head of the Steering Committee acknowledged and highly appreciated the proactive and responsible spirit of the Steering Committee members in developing a plan to merge commune-level administrative units. In the spirit of the Central's viewpoints and orientations, it was agreed to submit to the competent authority a plan to reduce about 50% of the number of commune-level administrative units after the merger.
The Provincial Party Secretary directed to receive comments and suggestions, continue to review and complete the arrangement plan to report to the competent authority for consideration within the prescribed time, focusing on the plan to name new communes and wards after the merger. Based on the regulations of the Central Government, develop standards on the qualifications of provincial and communal-level cadres and civil servants to carry out the arrangement of cadres and civil servants when implementing the arrangement of the apparatus of the provincial political system.
