(Fatherland) - On the evening of September 2, at Nguyen Tat Thanh Square, the center of Quy Nhon City (Binh Dinh Province), the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism coordinated with the People's Committee of Binh Dinh Province to open the "Quintessence of International Martial Arts" performance program, attracting thousands of participants.
On the evening of September 2, at Nguyen Tat Thanh Square (Quy Nhon City), the performance program "The Quintessence of International Martial Arts" took place. This is an event within the framework of the program "Tourism, Cinema and Sports - Proud of Vietnamese Identity" organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in coordination with the People's Committee of Binh Dinh Province from September 2 to 4.
Attending the program were comrades: Ta Quang Dong - Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Head of the Program Steering Committee; Nguyen Thi Phong Vu - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission, Chairwoman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; comrades in the Provincial Party Standing Committee; Standing member of the Provincial People's Council, leaders of the Provincial People's Committee, Standing member of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, and the Provincial National Assembly Delegation.
Speaking at the program, Mr. Ta Quang Dong, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said that the performance program "Quintessence of international martial arts" is part of a series of events and festivals on tourism , culture, cinema and sports that the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism is coordinating with the People's Committee of Binh Dinh province to organize to celebrate National Day September 2.
Leaders of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the People's Committee of Binh Dinh province presented flowers to martial artists and athletes.
In particular, Vietnamese traditional martial arts are the traditional cultural heritage of the Vietnamese people, passed down through many generations in the long history of building and defending the country. Deep within traditional martial arts is the quintessence of thousands of years of civilization, containing the humanistic martial arts philosophy of the Vietnamese people.
Besides the group performances, professional boxer Nguyen Tran Duy Nhat brought to the audience and people of Binh Dinh a very exciting Muayboran performance from the culture of the "golden temple" country.
Deputy Minister Ta Quang Dong emphasized that martial arts is not only a sport but also an important part of Vietnam's cultural diplomacy strategy. Martial arts plays the role of "soft power" in the international arena, through graceful movements and profound martial arts spirit, contributing to building the national image. Martial arts is not only a cultural heritage of the community but also a source of inspiration for many famous films, helping to promote and boost cultural development and tourism for countries, including Vietnam.
“On the path of international integration, up to now, Vietnamese traditional martial arts have developed widely in more than 70 countries and territories; having the opportunity to appear in the largest sports arenas in the region such as: Asian Beach Games (2015), SEA Games (2011, 2013, 2022, 2023)... The quintessence of Vietnamese martial arts has truly attracted millions of martial artists around the world as an introduction to the character and martial spirit of Vietnamese people to the international community,” said the Deputy Minister.
At the program, the audience enjoyed the graceful, flexible, artistic and diverse styles of traditional Vietnamese martial arts, Tay Son - Binh Dinh martial arts and some Khmer martial arts, wushu, pencak silat, muay, kickboxing... More specifically, the performances and martial arts performances were uniquely combined with music, interspersed with DJ performances to create a vibrant and exciting atmosphere for the audience.
When the Tay Son battle drums sounded, Binh Dinh martial artists began to perform a series of traditional Binh Dinh martial arts exercises, making the atmosphere exciting.
At the program, delegates and thousands of people enjoyed special martial arts performances from traditional martial arts troupes of Vietnam and Southeast Asian countries. The audience was extremely impressed with the collective stage performance of martial artists, with 7 performances focusing on spirit, philosophy of life and spiritual factors, ethics and culture, personality, patience and respect for others.
This is an important event to honor the value of traditional martial arts of Binh Dinh, famous for many unique martial arts schools, and at the same time, it is a bridge connecting domestic and international martial arts schools and sects to meet, exchange experiences in preserving and promoting traditional Vietnamese martial arts in general and Binh Dinh in particular.
